Complete four gang hideouts in one game day award

Recommended Posts

Jamielewis90

Does anybody have a fail proof walkthrough for the award mentioned in the topic?

I have used the maps/tips on reddit and such, however I have not even come close to getting this award.

I believe you should attempt the award straight after midnight, but where is it best to start off?

I tried going for it a while back but eventually just gave up. Too much effort and frustration for the "achievement" of getting lucky on a series of dice rolls.

At any rate, my strategy was to start at one end of the map at midnight (either Tumbleweed or St. Denis) and make a quick scouting circuit of all the nearby potential locations. Clear the ones you find then fast travel to the next town and repeat. You also need to keep the spawn windows for each one in mind and do some backtracking if necessary. I managed to get 3 a couple times but never got that final go. You can probably improve your odds if you've got any friends willing to help by scouting multiple areas at once.

Best of luck!!

Pass on this now and save yourself from the grief is my advise.
Save it for when R* fixes the spawning problems.

It was doable in the early days of RDO when hideouts spawned like clockwork, but now, as @jazzbonesaid, skip it, wait and see if R* fix the spawning issues, as you'll be need to get extremely lucky with current spawn rates.

I did get close without even looking for them a couple of months ago. Out in the desert I got 3 of them in around 6 game hours but then didn't find another one for the rest of my game time that evening. I don't think there's much point going for a lot of the awards and best to just play the game how you want and wait to get them naturally. When the game was released I spent a lot of time in Saint Denis camped on the roof killing lawmen for the awards. Completely pointless because I've had them many times over and can't reset them any more.

Totally agree with this but I’ve grown rather bored of red dead lately and been trying to find little challenges like this to keep me interested.

ill probably leave it though and hope spawn rates change as everyone in the thread has suggested 👍

Not sure if hideouts has been ‘fixed’ but I’ve done 7 in two days, 7 in months before this week.

The Hideouts spawn at different times of day. The big Valley one for instance, is only at night.

R* does not like spawning in stuff if anybody is looking, so If you travel to the area and wait for a spawn, go into cinematic mode (so the game controls your view) or open up your map, and the game can slip in a spawn without you seeing.  Other players roaming the area could also prevent spawning, so a low-population server is best for an attempt at 4. Don't get too close to the spawn-location.

just last session I ran into at least 4 hideouts, must have been 5 or 6. before that I had 1 spawn in a week or so. said to myself that tomorrow (so today, now)  there would be the "clear hideouts" daily challenge .... and there it is. I saw this before, hideouts would pop up A LOT inthe 12 hours BEFORE the daily challenges switch.

Honestly I've always kinda wondered if the hideouts were tied to the camp/animal/lobby bug we've been seeing as they seemed to be way less frequent for me around when all that started happening. Still feels rare that I find them but also feels rare that I find the normal abundance of animals or my camp spawning still.

As long as it's not one of the daily challenges the next best time to attempt this award is probably going to be the 12th of December.  I seem to have luck getting hideouts when other games have big releases and the heist update on gta will probably draw some rdo players away for the day.

Other than that, try to get a solo or low population lobby, preferably when you are near a few hideout spawn sites. I'd also try to plan your route in advance and look out for smoke, it's probably best to plan a route where you would be able to see smoke from the camp rather than ride up to each one.

It might also be worth trying to get a posse together for the attempt so you can search quicker, I solo mostly but I also think you get credit if someone in your posse clears a hideout (if anyone knows for sure either way, please confirm).

Certainly not me! Too much of a cultural shock. I once logged back in for the casino opening and like a real cowboy I was Celebrating, riding up to the entrance and Shooting the sky...and asap there was flashing lights and sirens and cops and that totally killed my vibes.i also was unable to find my way back out of the casino because of all the different levels.....and that overpacked radar mess wasnt helping at all.

Yeea, I've popped into GTAO a few times since Frontier Pursuits but I quickly end up back in 1898. I'm all about free roam and RDO just offers a better experience in that aspect, despite the flaws.

Same for me minus the posse part, just happened to come across four active hideouts in one day whilst looking for collector items.

Cumberland forest is a good spot as there’s three close by, then just need one other.

I f*cking miss the days of hideouts being spawned again if members in your posse chose to “replay” it as seen in the original Red Dead Redemption multiplayer. Many memories of just grinding all sorts of gang hideouts with the posse back in the day in that game. Red Dead Online gang hideouts are alright but I can’t be the only one who dislikes the hideout spawn rates in this game. Back in OG RDR multiplayer you could run through gang hideouts so quickly if everyone knew their spots and routine grinding them. So simple and easy to rank up very quickly. Pike’s Basin could be done in less than 5 minutes at times if you had a good posse then head over to Worthington Ranch and then back to Pike’s Basin. The routine was so simple. Sorry for reminiscing on OG RDR but damn I felt like I had more fun in that game than this. I love me some RDR2 though.

I had 2 of the same hideout trigger last night, quite near where my camp was set.

I believe the daily challenge requirement is only two, which is fairly easy if you're playing for a while.

I didn't even know that doing 4 had an award.

Oh yeah, I remember grinding Pike's Basin during triple XP a lot back then.

New Austin Hideouts worked best for me on both accounts.  Don't forget about Sea of Coronado hideout, I find most people do so it seems to spawn pretty easily between 1pm-5pm

Yessir! Sometimes Rockstar used to do Quadruple XP weekends on very rare occasions.

Might be good to try this right after the update when servers are fresh. Last time after an update I ran into ambushes and hideouts all the time for a couple days before the servers got tired again.

If you can get Gaptooth to spawn around midnight, then have a choice between Cueva Seca and Solomon's Folly for a morning hideout, then Sea of Coronado for a day one and Repentance Rock for a late afternoon/early evening. Then 2 options for a night one, the one south of Armadillo or Rattlesnake Hollow.
