PC: RDR2 Aim-Assist Question

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some information about the Aim-Assist on PC.

Is Aim-Aisst locked to on?

Is there anyway to play only with other Free-Aim players or lobbies without the controller aim assist? I notice people only getting headshots almost all the time.

I have tried plugging in a Xbox controller to get a look for myself and for me it says "This is unavailable due to session settings" or something along those lines however I've spoken to other players as well as witnessed it and people are defiantly using the Aim-Assist to instantly head pop. So I am a little confused as to how people are doing this if my controller settings say the above? I can adapt to using either M&K or Controller depending but I'd like to know why I can't use it on my controller yet when I use M&K I'm forced to play with people who I've seen use it as well as who I have spoken to who say its on for them.

Thanks in advance for any insight anyone can offer!

IMO there are tons of players who have the skill to Aim Assist, Joystick Flip, and kill you dead, every time they want to.

Unfortunately I am not one of them.

No. I get zero aim assist with a controller plugged in. Yet I get headshot the moment I step from cover. While riding by on a horse over 100 feet away etc. So clearly there are people getting the "WIDE" aim assist in lobbies. But for me it says " This is unavailable due to session settings " So is there a way to fix this or are aimbots an actual problem? Because neither myself nor either of my 3 clanmates get any aim assist at all on PC using a controller.

I suspect there is a controller setting somewhere, cannot remember where, maybe RDR2.org

Yes their are aimbots on here, like they are everywhere. Also check Posse settings if your in one. If someone else created the Posse, there is not much you can do but ask for a change.

Where is the controller setting located? I have looked inside the Keyboard&Mouse, Controller, sections and I don't see anything? Please let me know! This is completely destroying the experience, immersion and enjoyment for us!!!

Also, On PC is the "Wide" aim option available or only the normal one? Just want clarification because we have tried Normal, Wide and Narrow with no results. All say " This is unavailable due to session settings " .

Also, I can create a Posse so that means I'm not in one correct?

Side Question: How do I leave a Rockstar Social group I am in? I joined a few in GTA V that I'd like to remove off my list for RDR2 since a few of them don't do RDR2.

Thank you for any assistance anyone can provide !

To awnser your question is aim assist locked on the answer is initailly yes however it can be turned off into free aim. To turn aim assist off. Unplug the controller go into settings and then go into controller setting. For some reason the option to change aim assist is locked when a controller is plugged in. Change to free aim plug controller back in and it will be locked to free aim. You will have to unplug if you wish to change back to aim assist.

These settings can only be changed in single player or at the menu screen. You're not allowed to change them while in an online session (the "this is unavailable" message) because they have separate sessions.

I’ve found that if you use the keyboard to join a lobby, you’ll be placed in a free aim lobby even if your controller is connected...

Got to your controller settings in the story mode panel. Choose free aim and turn the aim assist slider all the way down. Good luck, mk users are way faster than aim assist users. Don’t flatter your self for wanting the full free aim experience because you’re not going to get it. 90% of the player base in free aim sessions are using paint it black to lock on anyways.
