Acho
So I'm at Wu Zi Mu, and I can't seem to win. I'm trying to somehow push the cars into the surrounding waterways, but having no luck. Having said that, I'm shopping around for a cheatless way to destroy the other 3 cars so that I can be first all the way through. Also would like something that would work for the follow-up mission, Farewell my Love. Thanks for advice. I really want to pass this tomorrow. lil weasel
You don't need to cheat. I found if you leave the other cars alone, they will let you win. All you need to do is drive straight, avoid hitting anything Especially the other cars. They often wreck themselves. Take short cuts (they cannot). As a lark, I once won with a camper. The fast cars, the Nitrous Oxide, don't help. You just need to keep on the path, not spin out, not hit anything. Acho
Rhoda
For the first race, Wu Zi Mu, I recommend using the Buffalo. You can obtain this as soon as you finish Catalina's missions as it is considered her signature vehicle. The race is long enough that some mistakes early on won't be the end of the world. As it turns out, the game's AI is crap. It is surely tempting to shoot for an early lead and maintain it but depending on how good you are at races, this can be tricky. Try to navigate the first part without collisions. After the rocks and the cliff, the race opens up and you hit the countryside. Take the inside lines through the small town and you'll find you can shave a place or two off the more clumsy drivers. Later on in the race, there are at least two shortcuts which allow you to cut straight up the hill as opposed to following the road. This is easy peasy for the Buffalo. As for other cars, I recommend a Rancher. It might not be the fastest, but it's a sturdy car and makes short work of the countryside. Like I said, the other drivers aren't very clever so stick with it even if you're in last place at the halfway mark. For the next race, Farewell My Love, things are slightly different. For one thing, the race is identical apart from being in reverse. You'll start from the end and race back to the beginning. I personally prefer this one, mostly because you're actually locked into a car choice - the ZR350. The car's performance is far better than anything the others are using, so providing you can get used to some pesky oversteer on the steeper hills you'll leave them in the dust. Be careful when navigating through the barns.

I always use the Buffalo (forgot to say in original post) for this WZM. I'll try to just drive at a normal speed and hopefully they'll wreck themselves. Also wondering, is it possible to "steal" their cars at the finish line and beat up the drivers? Obviously would have to be quick.
lil weasel
OH, you may have to drive fast, poking along at "normal" speed might not do it. Taking short cuts helps, cutting across fields, over sidewalks, etc. I use the cars supplied, like the Buffalo. As far as stealing the other cars? I don't know I never bothered. I am sure someone has. Let's hope they advise.
