White Cougar bug (PC)

This is the only bug I've encountered in this otherwise amazing game

 

Playing the moneylender quest to get money from Winton Holmes you end up going after the legendary white Cougar,  it killed me but instead of the usual option to replay the mission or load the last checkpoint I reappeared somewhere but was unable to move.

 

I replayed that part after restarting the game and the same thing happened again, I cannot tell whether I reappeared by the cave as the character is stuck and cannot look around but the game has not locked up as everything else, birds, animals etc just carry on as normal
