scorpgul
So I am noticing some very weird popins since the new patch. 1 area where it can clearly be seen is the saloon in Valentine. An alcohol bottle and glasses on the second table to the right materialize less than a few yards away. In the same saloon, the details on the dresses of the 2 ladies sat on the bench near the bartender suddenly appear when you approach them. And if you walk to the barber, turn around and look at the entrance of the saloon and start walking slowly, you see the animal skull on the wall to the right and the hanging coat next to it also appear. This happens even with max geometry distance. I installed the new Nvidia Hotfix driver. 2080Ti, i7 7700k here. I did not notice these popins prior to the patch. Anyone else notice the same issues? Ghetzi
Had a horse pop in at camp today. Didn't happen until I was really close. Hadn't seen that before, so something might be up.

Hadn't seen that before, so something might be up. I tested some more and I can definitely see much worse LOD pop in than before the patch. I do not remember it being so noticeable. Horse hairs, some npcs suddenly pop. The most immersion breaking one I just had is I hitched my horse outside the Valentine saloon. There were 2 other horses next to it. I literally walked towards the gunshop, turned around and the 2 horses next to mine vanished... This patch has screwed up yet something else. Noticing some strange lighting flickering bugs as well and in some interiors the light almost looks like it switches on/off as you approach. This is yet aother low draw distance mud puddle situation (I fixed that following the instructions) but sadly there is no setting in the XML file that governs the lod pop in it seems as i maxed out the slider already ingame. RedIndianRobin
Go to Settings.xml. Change your DeepSurface Quality to Ultra.
scorpgul
Just now, RedIndianRobin said: Go to Settings.xml. Change your DeepSurface Quality to Ultra. This is for the mud puddle dude. As I mentioned I already did that. It has nothing to do with the new popin issues.

I could imagine even 2 leaving at the same time if they were in a posse and starting a showdown or similar mission. I have seen npcs pop in as I'm riding toward them, maybe as near as 40-50 feet away. That's not ideal. scorpgul

Then change PedLodBias and VehicleLodBias - and perhaps LodScale, all to 1.000000 That's the right value, mine got broken after I noticed it being set to 0. Good call. Both Ped and Vehicle were set to 0.00. Easy fix, thanks!

Void Hood
Yikes. I noticed by settings were defaulted again today and set the preset to ultra then changed my settings down from there to fix these sort of issues. Nope, still had to manually change it in the settings folder. One thing people do fail to mention is the amount of troubleshooting and general computer knowledge you need to actually get things optimal for games, particularly bad ports.
