What to do in online?

Recommended Posts

Is there any content to do with other players as in the main missions? I've done the missions all the way till that one when (SPOILER ALERT) the woman got to the reunion with the killer of her husband and killed him.

And now what? Aren't there any more missions that I could play with other players? Because, bounty hunting, treasure explorer and animal hunter, are like a... meh... content for me. I'm comming from GTAO where I was doing only missions with ither players, but here it seems like the game is dead and im playing alone.

Am I missing the point of the online game in RDR?

Please help me, as I feel like I wasted money on this game.

There's 4 more missions available, but you have to be "dishonorable" in order for you to do them. So pay Old Man Jones a visit or go on a cop killing spree to lower your honor.

you should try the stranger missions.

and you really should do the legendary bounties, if you like missions.

Most exciting and at the same time frustrating is hunt your camp.

The overall goal of RDO is to collect as much RDO$ and Gold Bars as you possibly can and then spend them on ability cards, horses, and random items/clothing.. There's only a handful of actual online-story missions and you have completed the majority of them already. Now all there is left to do is grind the fetch quests disguised as Bounties and Strangers or play PvP gametypes until your head explodes.

If you were expecting ANYTHING like GTA:O, I am truly sorry to disappoint you but this game doesn't have even 30% of the content GTAO had when it was first released.

RDO only has two positive things going for it right now, it's a wild west game and the graphics are absolutely fking gorgeous.

but Hey... at least we got a pretty good single player right?

If you think the current RDO has less than 30% of the content GTAO launched with I dunno what to tell you, also think the single player is at least a bit better than "pretty good" but that's subjective obviously.

@OP: Unfortunately if full on instanced missions are what you're looking for RDO is a little lacking in that department atm, as was mentioned there's a small handful of missions you can't access without low honor. Also the legendary bounties are similar to these, unfortunately the rest of the LeClerk story is yet to come in a future update.

I don't care about RDO$ and gold bars. I was expecting this game to be more coop style like gtao is. I really don't care about the looks, the horses I have or the guns, all I wanted is to play with other people. It turns out that if you play without friends, you play this game alone 90% of the time, which is very boring...

Can‘t reallyrelate to that. Pretty much every aspect in this game except showdown (not even all of them) is very coop-friendly.

if no friends are online I almost always find randoms to join my posse within few minutes.

try to play with a temporary posse, because players who start the game by pressing „join a posse“ might join you.

You can do al the random encounters and stranger missions in co-op. You can do every role in co-op and still get xp/money.

GTAO had far more content at its launch than RDO has at this very moment... I think it's unfortunate but that's how the cookie crumbles.

And the single player was pretty good in my opinion. I'm not going to sit here and say that RDR2's story line is the most amazing thing I've ever played because it wasn't but it was definitely worth the time and money I spent. In my opinion, RDR1's story was better than RDR2's.

Lol how so? In game modes and contact missions? Help me out with an explanation or else I can't help but disagree.

The point is, there is no point. What's the point of GTAO? To do whatever you want to do.

And if you bought the game just for online, then yeah, I'd say you wasted your money.

There’s a great mini-game called “Spawn My Camp,” where the goal is to get Cripps to spawn your camp. It was the biggest piece of content (time-wise) added in the Frontier Pursuits DLC.

The amount of contact missions, death matches, survival, races, mini games, all with the ability for mode options and to host “play with who you want” at that time.   There was store robberies.   There were free roam events albeit just a few, along with lobby type and aim preferences.  More than anything there was the choices of how to play and who to play with.  Each game has different things to do but right now rdr is lacking the amount of options gta had at launch. Will those things come in time, I hope so, for a game like this with the potential it has it should.  Just remember “putting both RDR2 & gtao aside” redemption 1 online didn’t have that many choices at launch either, lobbies and the other game modes came about a year later.

Well, to each his own, I guess.

I have little interest in linear story modes and had previously watched a fair bit of online game play, so knew what was in store and bought the game based on that.

Open world games are one of my favorite things, and what content there is at the moment is satisfying enough so far, more is certainly to come, but I can see people expecting much more being disappointed.

Single player is a lengthy and deep experience, probably a lot more than half the content available.

I know I was being very general in my previous comments by not going into much detail but that is because I figured it was useless for me to describe how GTAO's content greatly outnumbers RDO's content(to be fair, this is how R* designed RDO, to slow roll players and not "making them Leviticus Cornwall" right from the beginning). But anyways, El Diablo pretty much said what I was going to say, all I could do now is add on to what GTAO has that RDO doesn't. GTAO was far from perfect but it still had more of everything you need to preoccupy players until the next big update.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, RDO will eventually become something great but it's still going to take a bunch of more updates. Right now all we're doing is stockpiling cash and gold.. that's all most of the veterans can do at this point in RDO... bunch of currency and nothing worthwhile to spend it on.
