How exactly do I disarm this guy? I shot his gun several times but nothing happened.

His arm or his shoulder. And there's no penalty if you kill the Marshal. In fact, you get five XP for killing him.

Don't tell me stuff like that! I'm just going to blow his head off too with my shoutgun!

@Red Lynx 23 So you don't get paid less? I got paid only 140$ for 2 star, running down clock to 30 minutes, it's less than other bounties.

Maybe there are some hidden parameters you missed?

Like what? Not saving the Marshall's life would result in a smaller paycheck, atleast that makes sense to me.

Haven't tried it in 4 or 5 star difficulty yet, but as the difficulty increases your time in dead eye to shoot Nik decreases each time, making it increasingly harder (IMO at least) to get a clean shot at his arm to save the Marshall

You're opinion might differ from mine when you get around to playing it, but I wasn't overly impressed.

Straight forward camp clear out, SP style dual followed by a swarm of enemies.

None of the 9 which have followed lived up to the first LB, IMO.

Mhmmm. It alright, it was the closest to the 1st they've done, I don't think it was bad by any means. The ability to let the bear loose and help you is a p cool touch.

The location isn't a bad one for a shootout, but the thing that made the first bounty such a great mission is that it felt like a proper assault on a big hideout. Fort Riggs is a camp that's very open and approachable and has enemy spawns on the outskirts of the camp and also the wave of enemies that come after you get the bounty they spawn in a wide radius around the camp from what I saw. In general, it just sorta played like the gang hideout did except it had the bear twist, decent shootout, but doesn't quite recreate what made the first so cool.

PvE stuff like that in instanced missions is okay when it's very open, it is an open world after all, but a more linear experience creates better shootouts. A great example of this is the very last mission in the single player, which is an experience that RDO has yet to come close to recreating outside of the 1st legendary bounty mission really. The St Denis bank robbery story mission in RDO is pretty cool too, but is too short.

Could be! But its only 140 for 2 star I wouldn't think to much about.

Could be the bears too that effect the payout. Thsre is so many things in this bounty that happens.

Ah, so the Speed solution.

@Red Lynx 23 @Nerfgoth

1 star: With 1 friend, as Posse leader, Marshall died, payout $143

2 star: Solo, Marshall died, payout $140

3 star: With 1 friend, as Posse leader, Marshall Saved (Finally) payout $178.

To me it seems saving the Marshall results in a higher payout.

Posse leader always get better pay!

But 30$ for two more stars is bad!

The difference is not 2 stars, the difference is saving the Marshall's life. That got me a higher payout.

Atleast I assume that's it. I'm not 100% sure. The game never tells me anything about what happens if you save or don't save his life.

The disarm mechanic is also very stupid in this bounty, imo.

Wish there was a setting to use a rifle instead of a revolver or pistol!

Yes, it seems so backwards, me using a sawn-off shotgun instead of revolver are more likely to kill both of them!

But I had a feeling about the marshal could effect the payout when reading the poster!

I'm dumb and assumed we just had to take the target out and shot him in the head first 2 difficulties.

The third time, I switched the Lemat revolver to shotgun mode before killing the last guard and triggering the showdown. I must have shot him in the arm with it or something because he dropped, giving me an option to execute or hogtie him and the captive escaped alive!

Not sure if it was a lucky shot or if this is the best option, will try again on 4 star later.

My favourite thing about this bounty is the fact I can finally use a sniper rifle for something - I might even keep replaying this one just for the practice.

Shame it doesn't last long, but there are plenty of animals to hunt to run the clock down.

BTW, what's with the dying dog at the back of the camp? I keep knifing it expecting an arrowhead lol.

Yes, the reason I did it was because it was 1 shot on 1 star difficulty, 2 shots on 2 star (Lemat revolver mode) so I thought I'd try something different for 3 star in case I failed by not killing him quickly enough.

I never thought to use the sawn off though because I use Gunslinger's choice for the second round of enemies.

ETA: Just finished 4 star and to answer your question, yes it was 1 shot. I shot him in the head first but failed for killing him, so restarted and hit him around the shoulder area, just above the gun.

My sniping spot.

Would be cool if they give players a special reward that brought every single Legendary Bounty in alive at level five. A token that shows you overcome every challenge thrown your way. Course I doubt they'd ever do that.

First time I actually succeded saving the marshall and disarming Big Popa Bear was on five star difficulty. On the other levels either he or the marshall died.

Ever watch Golf? You know that quiet and dignified polite clapping they do? That.

God no, never watched golf, I’d imagine it was even more mind numbing than playing it, but I’ll use the gif somewhere I’m sure 🤣
