HikikomoriYume
You should be able to take on any mission and complete the game without a minimap. This would require you to hone your sense of situational awareness and cause you to become more immersed in the game world. I find that the minimap distracts me and most of the time I'm staring at that rather than the world, I don't even really remember what V looks like because when I'm doing missions I have my eye on the minimap. It would be cool to see missions where you actually have to EXPLORE and use your visual sense to make your way through. I'm playing San Andreas and V with the minimap disabled, I have to pause a lot to look at the map but I do find this causes me to feel more immersed in the game world. Max.pain
well, it’s normal to have a map when you’re in a car considering there is something called gps but games are playable without the map anyway if you pay attention to dialouge. DOUGL4S1
Reminds me of this part on NakeyJakey's video on Red Dead Redemption 2: (9:35 if Youtube doesn't skip for some reason) And yeah, I think it would be kinda cool, specially with collectables. Maybe you only get a message with criptic messages describing where something is hidden, and you must explore to find it. It would make learning the map more satisfying. _F_ and Eternal Moonshine

I mean, we could y’know, use the map they have provided in every single game case since GTA 3. Edited November 12, 2019 by darkdayz
Guest Billy Russo
I'd definitely be on board with this. I'd enjoy getting lost on my first playthrough trying to get around. Plus they could always bring back voice GPS from IV, so you wouldn't need to use a mini-map and it'd be more immersive.
Algonquin Assassin
Isn't this kind of pointless since there's already an option to turn off the minimap? I've tried it before and I get how it creates a sense of immersion, but truthfully I think it would wear thin on me if I didn't have a minimap to refer to 100% of the time since I still like the sense of comfort I get when I can peer off for a few seconds if I'm not sure about something. It isn't just for exploring or being able to get around, but even just be able to see where enemies are on the minimap. I don't care about "Getting Gud" when playing a GTA game. If it's not broken, don't fix it. Like I said there's already an option to turn it off so I don't see the point of forcing a convention down everyones' throat that may not want it in the first place. Americana
I'd love to see a Grand Theft Auto game as immersive as Far Cry 2 when it comes to HUD, and everything, but.. only as an option - I don't know how it would be implemented, though. Health could be integrated into a smart-watch or band perhaps; on-foot travel could be handled by a GPS app on the phone, akin to FC2's GPS. You'll probably have to count ammo Archer-style though I can see R* providing accommodations like these to support this play-style, but most of the player-base obviously isn't going to care for it so idk if they'll bother with it beyond appropriate dialogue, better road signs, and the like. Keep your standard GTA experience as the mode you start out with. Then when you've beat the game, you can replay it on Hardcore which makes the game significantly harder and includes a lot more realism elements. This would work better because you could use your knowledge of your first playthrough to help you get around without extra markers.

The weapons and verhicles in Online is Insane. To make everybody happy is to have custom sessions or Hardcore Mode. If u talk about single player then yes. I already know that Edited November 13, 2019 by XxToretto-X

I do like the suggestion of a hardcore mode though. Even though you could just toggle those things individually there could be other things added like much more unforgiving police/enemy A.I, the protagonist can't take as much damage before being killed etc. iiCriminnaaL

I made a post a while back in the wishlist thread, too. I really think a new mode after you beat the game would be dope. I know we've all felt that sadness when a GTA story is over. Having a completely new feel and difficulty would make it feel so fresh on the second time around. Could even give you exclusive items and cool things in SP if you manage to beat it twice.
