Activation error: Your social Club account is not entitled to Rdr2.

So I’m trying to play Rdr2 on my laptop offline. While online it works, when I try to go offline, I get this message. What can I do to solve it?

From the error message my first guess is make sure you are connected to the internet. Looks like Rockstar is checking something and needs the connection.

 

Also, try signing out of the Rockstar Launcher completely and sign back in again before restarting the game. See if that helps.

Thing is, I was launching the game without the internet with I got this message. Online it works just fine

I am having exactly this issue as well. Cannot find any solution about this and no other solution for similar issues solves the problem. No real answer from R* either.

In the R* launcher go to the Settings > Account information > Delete local profile. Don't worry this will not remove your game progress just traces of your account that may be causing the issue.

Same error here. except I'm on a desktop and definately have a working internet connction.

Installed today, game worked fine on first launch but after I changed some graphics settings that needed a game restart, every launch since has shown this message immediately after the opening Rockstar logo and the disclaimer messages.

 

Have tried and hasn't worked:

• Launcher settings > Account information > Delete local profile
• Disabling Windows Security (firewall, real-time scanning)
• Command Prompt (Admin) > `netsh winsock reset` and restart pc

I have the same running the game from Steam

 

My solution is to close down steam, then start the Rockstar launcher nd sign in and start the Game from the launcher (Start Steam game).

yeah not using steam here. still get activation error. can get it to open after about 10 tries. support is clueless. so if anyone gets a fix please post it here.

OK so I did the windows update from 1903 to 1909. So far, for the last 2 days no activation error.

I have never went a day since owning the game with out the activation error, and after about 14 retries it would finally connect.

So got my fingers crossed it may be fixed with doing update.

Okay ..

 

Did not know about this tiny problem, before now .... Just completed building a new rig, and while the old PC never had any issues, I'm only been able to succesfully log on to the game 2 out of 10 times with the new one ..

PS: And yes, the method mentioned in the link does actually work ... Just put some load on your CPU (I'm using winzip, zipping an FS19 map - giving me 20 % load on the CPU) and you will get through the log on proces, without this error..
