Yeah, with a mix of Digital Foundry's Xbox One X equivalents and this HUB's Optimized settings, I managed to get an average of 59.061 fps (1080p) according to the game's benchmark. Lol.
I'll keep it that way. The game is ridiculously good.

This is pre-patch, just a heads up. It's still probably valid of course, as a whole.

I dunno what to do as a 980 owner. The 1060 looks like it gets its ass kicked by every other card in that presentation. I've been running on High out of stubbornness but I'm thinking about just going all medium except for stuff like GI and textures.

Why not just tweak the settings that hurt performance the most? shadows medium sucks hard, stick with high. global illumination really makes a difference the volumetric lighting as well. If you have issues on high, why not just start by turning some settings down and see how it does. What about AO, you could try leaving everything high and turning this off. My point is you should just be tweaking a lot of the settings and you will find the sweet spot.

Turned down Reflections and Volumetric Quality to Medium and am now hovering at around 45 on average. Pretty good.

Oof, you had reflections on High? Reflections are an extreme FPS killer in this game, I have them on Low, which is already higher than the console setting. As for lighting, I have Global Illumination on High and Volumetrics on Medium, still looks majestic.

I know you asked me for my settings a while back, here is the XML: https://pastebin.com/0x2jVDdF

You can also try resolution scale down slightly and see if it helps. Sometimes going down a little won't be too noticeable, but might give you a few more fps. I was getting sub 50 with high shadows, lighting and volumetrics on an RX580. The only thing I didn't like is that I can start to notice snow and stuff in the air makes it look funky kind of how 30fps looks. Shadows can't go any lower because then it looks like straight up garbage and really blocky, so turn the other to medium, the scenery and lighting is still pretty good, but now I am hitting 52+ which makes a massive difference with that feeling like the fps is just not enough.

Changing reflections won't do sh*t in this game. It will only matter when it's raining or you're near water. 😛

Volumetric Quality to Medium

Yikes! It looks very bad IMHO. I'm still stuck with High. Although, setting Volumetric lighting to Medium gets me around 49 FPS average.

To keep this in a sort of "Digital Foundry related" thread, here's their latest video about input latency.

Enjoy

IS there a way to access the HUB's optimized settings without watching the video?

Each config video I see always spoils a bit of the game to me; thanks.
