PC: Aim Assist useless in Free aim Lobbies

It will only put me at a disadvantage when I join pvp. Seems like it’s designed for pve or story mode to enjoy the the full free aim experience? Wish it was the case RDO. I’m willing to bet no one uses it.

R* if you’re reading this, you’re really close to making this game perfect. I know animals are difficult to lasso, realistically, yes I can accept that, but having my reticule nudged in and out on multiple targets in front of me without my control is annoying. Scrap the slider for free aim lobbies.

No thanks, I play with controller and since lobbies are not separated by aim mode anymore, I'd rather still have a chance to defend myself from m&k players!

Yea just read the news. Now the only defense for mk users IS defensive mode

You can change aim preferences in the settings while being in SP (as usual), but I doubt any controller player is disabling it...

i know the console players probably need some help aiming but as a PC player, now i know i can only fight back using the same aim assist.... killed the game for me. Not logged in for a couple days now :(

I have only ever used free aim... i couldnt understand how i was getting beaten so fast every time. Iv played alot of FPS games and that auto aim makes me very sad. Gave feedback to R* aswell for what thats worth.

Has nothing to do with console players as (for example) I play on PC only since 6 years, but more todo with the fact that (imo) rdr (and gta for that matter) are MADE for controller. Sure, aiming with mouse is much more precise than with a gamepad and I don't understand as well why R* decided to not split the sessions anymore...

In GTAO for example there are MUCH LESS cheaters and script kiddies on the run in auto-aim sessions and I LOVE it 😃

I play on console. I also played the first Red Dead Redemption. It had Harcore Free-Roam (free aim) which is where I spent all my time when playing. There were and still is plenty of console players who are more than capable of holding their own in free-aim lobbies with a controller. When you spend a significant amount of time with a controller and it’s button mapping layout, it becomes second nature and muscle memory. I just recently started playing free-aim again since the first Red Dead Redemption, and it didn’t take long to get back into the groove of things.

P.S. I agree with you 100%. Rockstar needs to give us free aim lobbies.

When you get the "killed by" message in RDO as in seeing who killed you, is it possible to see if that person has killed you while free aiming or dead eye?

I am sometimes (not always) courious about it cause I want to know how capable the players I fight against are. I only free aim, never use dead eye (except for npc daily and sometimes in searching for bounty) when fighting other players. I think dead eye and ability cards are very lame in pvp in this game so I never do it I only try to stay out of trouble due to these features cause they are horrible in my opinion.
