No wonder Rockstar doesn't want to support PC from day one.

in some tiny way i agree, if we complain too much we may lose future pc releases and having a game not work for the first few weeks than not having it at all is a compromise i am willing to take as crazy as that sounds.

They had a freaking year for opti.. it's their problem not ours, other story would be if they release all platform games in one time and then some pc port problem start showing up, but they had a 12 months for this hot garbage, plus they care about money not players we know that for a long time, so don't worry there is gonna be another 15 months delay pc version of their next project, just in right time for ONLINE ''free'' updates.

People have to realise is that Rockstar has maybe a small handful of people working on PC opitmisation and they are working with a handful of popular AMD/Intel/Nvidia hardware configurations.

Yes it is disappointing that the game is not running 100% but DRD2 (and GTA V) are incredibly complex games with numerous different mechanics that all have to work in sync with each other, optimising isn't as simple as a first person shooter. It's the reason why open world games tend to be more poorly optimised.

Honestly it's better off we all purchase their titles on consoles from next generation and it is better they don't bring any of their future titles to PC. Problem solved for everyone.

I assume you mean everyone...except those who refuse to play a camera-based game with an analog stick, who prefer more than 12 buttons, who prefer smooth motion instead of juddery 30 fps, and who, among many other things, prefer not to support the paradigm of Billion Dollar Console Overlords controlling every aspect of their gaming experience?

But who cares about those people, right? 🙃

It's simple rockstar always releases the pc version one year later, because of profits, on consoles much less games get pirated. And this way some ppl even buy it twice.

I would do the same if i would be a game publisher.

The game is so broken that it actually makes me laugh. Controls are awkward and the game freezes every few minutes. It's a shame because the world is so immersive, but then a total several second freeze up breaks the immersion. I have played PC games for many years (mostly MMO's) and this game has some serious issues. But it has given me some good laughs so it's not all lost.

You have to expect it at this stage. PC's are intricate machines that vary wildly. Those that own the PC release are playing a game that's perhaps 95% complete. You've got years of bugfixes and optimisation coming. Just need to hold on and let the team work.

Its just a typical launch. All launches have issues. People just like to exaggerate and complain.

If we didn't complain and moan there would be no community. We understand that some developers take their time to fix bugs in their releases. But Rockstar? That is no excuse from them, considering they just recently downgraded console users. This starts to make me lose hope in Rockstar and even GTA for the most part because Red Dead Redemption 2 is now being thrown down and restricted on all platforms. Now all we can hope is they reverse these silly changes and fix them.

Resident Evil 2 launched flawlessly last January. Control was mostly functional. Shadow of the Tomb Raider? No crash at launch. Assassin's Creed Odyssey was fully functional. All fairly recent games that had a better launch. These are all from companies that had way less budget for their games (except maybe Ubisoft) yet their PC port was on point. Players could at least play them.

What I'm getting at here is that small bugs are expected, yes, moreso if it's a grand scale MMO. But being unable to launch a single player game? Or just the possibility itself to launch? The most important part of a new release? Requiring to upgrade the BIOS in certain cases? That's on another level entirely and is beyond having 'issues', it's plainly broken.

Rockstar had the arrogance to release their own launcher which in turn prevented a wide variety of players to play. Had the game been launched on Steam I'm sure half of the launch issues would have been avoided. Plus, they have been cashing thousands of dollars with GTA:O and RDR:O (on console) for years now, there is no excuse to not have been prepared for a better launch.

Players were able to bypass the launcher crash bug by using a GTA V no-launcher mod (but were hit by DRM check so still unable to play), that proves the issue relies entirely on how bad the Rockstar Game Launcher is.

We're not talking about optimization bugs or glitches here, but stuffs that legit prevent people from playing at all. We shouldn't normalize this. It's NOT normal. This isn't and shouldn't be Fallout 76 lol (which can be launched at least).

I really can't believe you had the audacity to write that, lol.

Do you actually believe that the thousands of people who have stopped playing the game in order to post about their problems online are just exaggerating or lying, because they love making a big deal about nothing instead of playing the game they paid $60+ for?

Or are you just not big on honesty?

It was pretty bad too. The only difference being that this is the first RDR title to come to PC in the first place.

That doesn't give R* a free pass though. Not in my books.

Please watch digital foundry video. RDR 2 is perfectly optimised compared to GTA IV, but it has day one issues (rocky launch). It is designed to test "future" hardware and push the limit.

With all the enormous negative feedback from the PC community, it's no wonder Rockstar doesn't want to release the PC version alongside the consoles. Now, before you start bitching and moaning about the headline, I know it has not been the best of starts for RDR2 on PC, with many people experiencing the launcher issues etc. Just give them some time please(Rockstar launcher is just an infant tbh) after all, we all love this game and I am sure Rockstar will address the issues people are having. Also, those who are suffering with bad optimization/bugs/freezes/glicthes etc. Rockstar is going to make it right, just be patient.

Have a nice day/evening.

Excuse me, but are you saying that I and everyone else, who play video games on the PC, should keep mouth shut and simply accept a product, which has many problems, and feel guilty that specific company isn't capable to release their product properly on the PC?!

I guess I should mention that if you are going to release a video game (on any platform) and will ask to pay 60$ for it, then you should expect that people will complain if this video game will have issues, which ruins fun, not to mention issues, which makes it unplayable. They have every right to complain in cases like this. Why?! Because people bought this game and money doesn't grow on trees. People have to work hard to earn it.

In other words, don't blame PC and its community when it's obvious as day that issues, which this game has, is a result of a greed and incompetence.
