FPS story mode VS RDO on PC

Hi all,

 

In singleplayer I have my options set to where I'm getting in the 50-60fps range which I'm happy with. However in RDO typically my FPS is less than half that with the same settings ( 16-22fps) which makes it near unplayable. I have seen it spike up to close to what I get in singleplayer for a minute or two, but then nose dives back to the upper teens.  Is anyone else seeing this? Is the cause known? Any solution for it? Thanks,
