ZZCOOL

is it crashing for you?

I was one with Rockstar Launcher issue. If you have a mobo with a Ryzen CPU it is worth the try to downgrade the BIOS to one that have AGESA 1.0.0.2. At least in my case (ASUS Prime B450M-A with Rysen 5 3600 and AMD Radeon 5700), downgrading to BIOS version 1607 allowed me to play the game.

It is not by all means the ideal solution, but a valid workaround while wait for Rockstar to release a proper patch.

Rockstar's DRM is so damned good it even thinks Rockstar's software is Pirated ....... That's basically what is going on with this error, the DRM fails to authenticate the game and crashes it intentionally. Rather than break the DRM and fixing the problem Rockstar would rather break our computers and lay the blame all on us .....

You must be having a different issue then everybody else. Because there are not may with Intel CPUs having an issue. Having a fit is not going to solve anything.

The game is very resource intensive. You can only optimize a game so far. At some point you just need to upgrade your PC. I have an I7 8700k/ GTX 1080ti/ 32 GB ram/ SSD/ 1440p setup and I get about 60 FPS or more on all high settings.

The thing is, there's something wrong with the game itself.  I'm above minimum requirements, although I'm not quite at recommended.  Like I said, there's something weird with how the game uses my processor now that I'm looking at it in the task manager. In any case I should be able to run it without these weird hiccups with everything at the absolute lowest at least.

After trying and trying in these 2 days, I finally got in game!

Before that, I had updated my video card drivers (NVIDIA), updated the launcher, and set RDR2.exe to run as admin, but it still told me need to run as admin.

However, today I tried a new test that is set the Launcher.exe to run as admin, and it worked!

Rockstar keeps saying their gonna fix the crashes, cnet is reporting that the crashes are "mostly fixed" I see no sign of that and I also see nobody talking about how poorly optimized and how bad of a port this is.

You can find it under the folder "(Your game installed disk)://Rockstar Games/Launcher".

I already gave it Administrator, some days ago. But if u are with a new ryzen and a old motherboard with bios 1.0.0.3 doesn't works.

That's because all the reviewers that got an early copy had a DRM free copies that didn't need the launcher

Unfortunately no bios update for MSI 350 chipsets yet... we have to wait for R* to release a proper fix.

Got the game working by downgrading my BIOS to version f40. Worth a try if you're on a Gigabyte mobo.

Guys i just found this... But since i rolled back from windows insider version, i get back the Social Club error, and i can't have infinite loading when i click story. Ok, this is for PS4 and Xbox fix, but maybe someone with AMD Ryzen 3xxx and Agesa 1.0.0.3 motherboard, have a xbox joypad to use on PC. If u could test it, and works, i will upgrade again to Windows Inseder and will be the final fix. Ofc you need No GTA5 Launcher.exe

https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360011926793/Continuous-loading-screen-when-selecting-Story-in-Red-Dead-Redemption-2

I don't want to try myself coz i have 10 mbit/s connection and i need almost 2 hours to get windows insider version again XD

That reminds me a long time ago when I didn’t buy pc games, I “borrowed” from “internet friends” and it always worked pretty nice lol

Now I’m spending lots of $ buying broken stuff. lmao

I have a Gigabyte MB and started with F40 and it crashed, upgraded to the latest and it does the same ..... They released an AGESA 1004B BIOS update for the high end a couple of days ago but said they wouldn't get to the B450 and B350 MBs until later in the month

stop upgrading/downgrading your BIOSesl. The issue is from their stupid DRM which is very broken. Don't risk bricking your PC for a stupid game just because Rockstar's "attention to detail" was not applied to their game code because they first thought about money. Put pressure on them, for patches or refunds if you don't want to wait. In my case there is an update for my motherboard but I cannot upgrade, as the manufacturer does not recommend it for my CPU as it might degrade performance. I won't do it, I paid for the game, I want a fix and we are all-ready 3 days late.

Download the BES (Battle Encoder Shirasé for Win XP/7/10/etc.) , set the percentage to -5% and play with a bang without friezes, at: 1060 6gb; MEDIUM; dx12; 60fps/

Friezes, as I noted, come from 100% of the processor’s load (my old i5 6600), and this program underestimates the load, downloads, starts, selects the Rdr2 process and tries to set percentages with a slider, I personally had -5%, it’s enough, small rare plugs, but at least you can play

This is such a clown show.

Woke up this morning, decide maybe optimizing through GeForce Experience might do something.  I can't really tell what it did although it claims it did *something* but everything is still set to low.

Game crashes, so I think "Great, I just made it worse"

RGL offers to let me start in safe mode, and now it's running stable, albeit looks like complete crap cause everything is on low.

*sigh*

I still don't even understand why RGL stopped giving me the unexpected exit crash.  I think an update happened while I was sleeping the night before?  But then why isn't this fixed all around?

Just a complete clown shoe launch all around.

Lucky you, I'm on a b350 and still no bios update available. I don't really want to mess with my bios anyway, they should just fix their sh*tty launcher.

Us B350 users have to wait for one of 2 things to happen:

1) AGESA 1.0.0.4 BIOS update.
2) Rockstar fixing their sh*t like their supposed to.
