Downgrades as of Patch 1.31 (Reports)

I am just totally lost and do not know what to do, I was 96% complete on my first playthrough with just coach robberies and challenges left from about 7 onwards (a few completed) I just want to get on my horse and ride the sunset but it just gives me a migraine when I try riding etc, I don't understand why we can not remove a patch if it messes up the game, should this not be an option with every xbox game, I paid for the game not changes they wish to make which IMO should be optional, it just feels like I am renting the game and they can do what they please whether I like it or not :(

Yep, reinstalled, same bad framerate, it literally hurts my eyes. I'm gonna drop this game for now and will hope for that miraculous fix which will never come...

 

I'm curious though, have anyone succesfully contacted R* support about this? On nov 5 I wrote them that I would be happy if they would forward this issue to the team and the response I got was:

Same automated cookie cutter response they give everyone. There's a chance it will get forwarded to the support team but it's unlikely since the only way they'll notice is if big websites start reporting on it.

Digital Foundry are currently working on a new video to compare the consoles to the PC version. With this broken mess on consoles this isn't going to look good in DF's upcoming RDR2 analysis... Just saying.

Pc isn't good of a port either so that entire video will be interesting to see.

It will at least shed some light on the horrible mess that the last update was for consoles.

Dissappearing isn't just limited to scopes and the camera. As you can see here aiming in 3rd person is enough

Sneaky small alligator pelt sticking to my horse's arse, there are a few tricks to solve this though, just search on YouTube.

Playing on Xbox One S. I'm not liking this new "patch". It seems like they just made the game run and look even worse instead of actually updating it.

 

First off, kind of a nitpick, but why the hell did they add an out of place looking loading bar? You'll notice it when you first launch the game. It looks like it came out of a flash game or GTA 3.

 

Second, as what everyone's saying here, I'm also experiencing bad frame drops especially while in a town like Saint Denis. It feels like the game is actually capped to 22 FPS instead of the usual 30. 

 

Third, it seems like some random events and prompts have reset as well. It kept telling me about the wanted level and the camp which I've already seen before. And I helped out that guy with the snake bite again. More free guns I guess?

 

Fourth, draw distance is ass. I've seen multiple props and NPC's just pop in out of nowhere or just load right in front of me.

 

 

Despite all of that, the game is still playable (sorta), but all of these issues are going to kill me one day. Expecting a patch soon. (an actual one)

Strange thing is I now have the dynamic hud, and the game was trying to update to 1.14 whilst the Internet was off... How does that happen lol? 

 

Did 1.00 have a dynamic hud before? I actually don't remember. Turned it off though, so.

I am on the ps4-pro and owns the digital edition so with that I cannot revert back to any earlier versions. But my friend owns a disc version, can I delete the digital version, go offline and install a brand new RDR2 from the disc? Will it be playable direct from disc? I am really considering to do all this if I know that it will result in a playable version even if I stay offline.

I am not %100 certain about the digital copy, so just double check on that before you delete it, but with a physical copy, you can definitely delete and reinstall. If your friend would be kind enough to lend you the copy, absolutely do so. Playable direct from disk indeed. Keep in mind there are 2 discs, 1 data disc as well as the actual game disc.

Yes, I can download the digital version as many times as I like  So I will definitely borrow the game tomorrow, delete the digital 1.14 garbage version and restart the entire story with the disc-only version! So thanks for all help!

Yes as long as your account is the one that bought the game, you can Redownload the digital version whenever you like. Remember when installing the disc to download any dlc you had from the digital version. While the disc is installing press down on the Dpad and you'll see PS store at the bottom. You can redownload your dlc from there

Thanks mate!  As I said in an earlier post, I am like a junkie when it comes to this game because of my love for the old west era. And not being able to play any other version than 1.14 trash version made me somewhat depressed. So now I am happy again knowing that I can reinstall the game from the discs tomorrow and restart the entire story while not needing to see trees and houses vanish before my eyes.

And I really need to say, this video is the definitive evidence that R* really do not care about their products longevity. Whom will buy a game, play through the story with all the 1.14 bugs, glitches and ass and still being interested in the online parts afterwards!? With 1.14 the story mode does not really make anyone impressed with anything about the game.

Will tomorrow afternoon CET, first I will celebrate Father’s Day with my wife and children  I have no idea if Father’s Day is the 10th of November everywhere but here in Sweden it is the day for it. So until the afternoon my wife and children wants me to behave like a “pater familias”

Nah, I am not “cool” with it but it cannot be a worse experience than 1.14. 
 

You need to see that I know have three options, 1: Continue with the 1.14 version that literally sucks ass, will not do that. 2: Stop playing the game for no one knows how long time until R* makes the “mistakes” of 1.14 goes away. Let us be honest here, this will take a long time and there is a huge “if” here as we do not know for certain that R* will ever fix this 1.14 mess. 3: Install from disc and play from there. This is the least bad of all the choices that I am given. I was ok with 1.13 and even if there where issues, I still could immerse myself and enjoy the game but 1.14 really took that joy away. So as you see there are really not much of a choice.

4. go back and play Red Dead Redemption 1 that is what I am doing until hopefully it is fixed or if not play the 1.0 version of RDR2 and try to pretend as in my experience I have not been playing this game for nearly a whole year and 96% done

just a heads up. I’m currently trying to downgrade from 1.14 with my physical Xbox copy, and it’s not letting me. 1.00 crashes when I select my profile right before the R* logo. I have cleared cache + saves, and the discs are clean with no scratches. this is the only game im having issues with and im on my third (final) install attempt.

yep, im fully disconnected. I’ve downgraded from older patches before with no issues. I just installed the latest update again to confirm it’s not a disc issue, and it still works.
