Would have you preferred if LCS used licensed music for head radio and lips 106?

Nah they should’ve used licensed tracks. This game needed a rock station. I mean it would’ve fit the timeline so well.

Classic rock, hell yeah for the bikers especially.  Head radio was pretty much almost a rock station except a few pop songs.

Yeah I’m glad you brought that up. So you’ve got these bad ass bikers... who listen to bad ass pop? Lmfao I don’t buy that for a second. They should’ve had Nū Metal in this game. I’m not a fan of the genre but considering how Korn and Limp Bizkit were big before, after, and definitely during 98 they should’ve been in the game.

 

A few people on here argue that kind of music or rock wouldn’t fit in this game but I know plenty of tracks that are in other GTA games that necessarily fit those games.

Yh they may have been the pioneers of the movement but I'm more referring to the chemistry of the bands to successfully have it as a pure nu metal station by 98. The movement weren't widespread then.

Being the music nerd/ historian I am I’ll give you a few examples

- Limp Bizkit

- early Deftones

- Papa Roach

- Alien Ant Farm

- Disturbed

- Drowning Pool

 

But who’s to say it has to be strictly a Nū Metal station? Hell it can have rap metal or rap rock like Rage Against The Machine or even grunge like late AiC (both genres influenced Nū Metal)....

 

(now) As I was typing I started to realise that Nu Metal wouldn’t work. But then again 60s rock wouldn’t work either. It seems to me like rock wouldn’t fit either. Especially Punk. (I have the MP3 player station and have punk from Descendents to Discharge and it definitely doesn’t work)

 

However I could imagine Industrial music fitting perfect for the game. Not a fan of that either but what I’ve heard (NiN) that would fit nicely.

For me personally it wouldn't work for GTA LCS, heck even gta 3 as it would ruin the game's soundtrack. 

 

West Coast punk rock doesn't do it for LC since we have liberty jam in a way that plays East Coast rap. 

 

Like I said Radio x would be playing All those sub genres you have mentioned. In relations to Nin, there did seem to be an electronic rock song on head radio which could have some radio friendly industrial rock but overall 90s pop rock does it since there are parodies of certain bands within that movement.

I found it neat they kept with the in-house theme present from GTA III. I think the radio stations are fine as is.

I hated how lips in gta 3 was a top 40 station like couldn't they have a jazz station as well as rock.  I think having commercial bands like limp biz kit would ruin the game but Id imagine gta 3 with a full blown rock station, would make it more intensifying like msx.

The places, the people, the cars, the restaurants, the brands and products. The music should be too. For that reason the soundtracks for GTA, 2, III, and LCS are my favorites in the series.

I did love the soundtrack from gta 1, 2 and lcs but 3s one sounded so dull in comparison to the others

The in-house music of LCS its not as good as Love Fist, but the songs they created fit the game's atmosphere very well. Though, I would'nt have minded if they had used licensed songs, there's some good stuff from the end of 90s that could have fit the soundtrack.
