Steam Backups between drives

I have a primary 1tb ssd and a secondary 2tb hdd in my computer. I would like to have my original gtav folder without mods for online play on my primary drive and my modded backup on my secondary drive. Its it possible to easily swap through each backup without needing to transfer gtav to the steam primary folder instead?
