GTA Online Premium Membership Idea

Recommended Posts

Basically, this membership, which would cost $60 a year (not $100, Bethesda), and would give you such features as being able to do businesses in non-public lobbies, earn more money from all content, have your utility, mechanic, and other periodic charges be reduced by 50%, have a 25% discount on all buyable content (which will stack with other discounts). I know, most people would not be a fan of this idea.

Delete this before Rockstar gets any good ideas.

Spoiler

Seriously though, the current P2P aspect the game has had for years is already a pain in the ass. Sure, if you want a $60 premium membership for used-to-be $60 game that is 6 years old, go ahead and pay for that instead of buying a nice lady a couple of drinks and get the benefit from that.

I was more thinking this would be the only way R* would be willingly to allow us to do stuff like do business in non public lobbies. I rather there be a premium membership over shark cards.

Rockstar already did that in some form, the Criminal Starter Pack?

Also, it is too late to implement such feature even from a business view, chances are extremely high that Rockstar may stop supporting GTA Online in 2020, so if they implement your idea, they would have to continue those people who support them via this membership, and this idea would give the active members the right to complain if Rockstar ever decide to stop GTA Online development.

But how many times did they say that?

Its lousy enough I have to pay sony $60 per year to play this and only this game's online portion. Ain't no way in hell that I'm forking out another $60 for one game I already bought twice for that amount plus tax. I know "games as a service" is a new trend, but I'll do away with video games altogether if subscription fees start making inroads into everything.

This would be the only thing worth it to me. And I’ve got MTU already. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ve made 200 mil from my nightclub alone without a botched sale yet so something must be working for me.... 🤔

frankly this game isn't fun enough to justify spending the money that i've already spent to play it

wouldn't it be better to make miserable grinding stuff not be a core part of the experience instead of putting together another way for it to wring money from it's playerbase? is the way this is designed to work as it is not to make all of the main ways of earning money boring enough that the player might resort to plunking down some money for a shark card? Wouldn't it be better just to not make everything so arbitrarily expensive in the first place?

No need to apologize, it's a great idea for t2, and I wouldn't be surprised if GTA 6 has a premium service since lootboxes and gambling are taking heat. People are wise to how r* will run it, so people will be looking for shortcuts.

I can totally see it. Premium subscription will allow businesses in private lobbies, a 10 percent increase in earnings and steep discounts and unlocks for subscribers. It totally works, just not for us.

Sounds like a flawed system. Good on paper but poorly executed. Fallout First (76) is an obvious example.

FF subscribers are getting invaded and griefed by other players who didn't subscribe to First. I can see the same for GTAO Premium, people will find a workaround to engage with premium members and grief them.

Does this come with an option to blow up every Oppressor that comes within 500 feet of you?

If so, I may just buy into it.

This broken and unbalanced mess of a game does not deserve a premium membership. Even 1 Dollar would be a price to high to be justified.

There are already enough pay to win mechanics in the game and especially selling in solo lobbies is something that should be avilable for everyone.

I'll just be the one to say it then, the idea is actually pretty good if you consider how much content we've been getting over the life span of GTA:O, but to justify a subscription they would have to release DLC more often then they do right now. That said i wouldn't be surprised if they do this for the next GTA:O.

Theres a sort of premium membership right now aswell, twitch prime stuff, gives you all sorts of discounts for a few bucks a month.

Didn't it go as well as you thought?

No, I just realize it wasn't a good idea, or rather, it would have been a good idea if GTA Online was actually free (as in, you could play it without owning GTA V), and if it had been implemented earlier into GTA Online's life cycle.

My previous post wasn't meant harsh if it seemed that way, saw now that it could seem a little harsh.

The idea might not have been the best but might've been better as you say if the game was totally free

Edit: still not a fan of payed subscription models tho, neither of payed dlc, etc
