How do i create unselected color matching rims

I am trying to color match some of my modded wheel colors. Whenever I get them to match from a merge, like getting the stock wheels to take the secondary color i cant seem to merge it to say a bennys car to transfer the color to bennys wheels.

 

Any tips on how to do the would be appreciated.  Been stuck for what feels like forever lol

Don't use stock wheels, most of the time it'll reset the colour to default.
