Are you f*cking serious?

Online is literally a greater success than GTA V itself, so would you really expect them to cut it out from the next game?

It was an interview from a year plus ago, they are making millions a quarter on the game why pull the plug when its so successful. Id expect it for gta 7. What gta 6 will get is crap co op likely.

Interview of who and what exactly?

4 minutes ago, Ehllfhire said:

I don't think you can quite comprehend the hype and magnitude of a new GTA game. When it is time for a new GTA, it is all about that GTA. By releasing GTA 5 Online, Rockstar Games raised the bar and made a new standard of what their games should consist of. They will be selling the game upon the story mode, but the Online mode will be the actual backbone of the game, the one element that will gain them the additional profits.

And just because GTA VI will release some day along side its Online mode, doesn't mean they will pull the plug on GTA V Online. They will still be making the money they can on GTA V, but with GTA VI Online, they will be counting stars for money on top of that.

Is simple marketing really that hard to understand?

A mess. So, I'd give it a rating of 6/10. PC player btw.

Also, I'm starting to think R* isn't good at doing multiplayer. They should hire a creative and experienced team to help them out.

I'm an optimist so 8/10. This is the greatest open world sandbox game of all time. Six plus years worth of free updates and tons of activities to enjoy. Lobbies on PS4 are always full never a dull moment! Also tons of ways to make legitimate money.

8/10  because my account is rich and because I can always find something to do and am always able to find a lobby with around 15+ people

If I was poor like on one of my other accounts *Only have like 10 million* then i'd rate it a 6/10

For a new player?

3/10 because of how grindy the game ended up becoming and the pay to win that didn't exist in the beginning.

8/10 For someone that at least started by 2016 because it wasn't quite the hell hole it is today and if you've played that long, you probably know most of the tips and tricks to playing this game your way.

In fairness that was sorta toned down again over the past year or so, but its not immediately obvious. What R* ended up doing is increasing pay for like 75% of the jobs, and the remaining 25% is constantly rotated trough the double pay & rp scheme. Yes i totally agree prices are way to high now (and have been for years) but since its easier to make good money these days im kinda thinking we went over the pay2win hump and are back to a point where most people can grind for a million fairly easily, if you put yourself to it you can totally do this as a low level on a saturday too, after that it just becomes a matter of knowing how to spend your first few millions (spend em on companies)

No idea who told you this but that would be beyond stupid, GTA:Online has made more money then all singleplayer gta's combined at this point, R* very much will include a "GTA:O 2" in GTA6

Shark card sales say otherwise, while i totally get the gist of what you're saying (half the stuff they add is stupid to say the least) fact of the matter is they're making a insane amount of money from it and investors etc are over the moon about GTA:O, every multiplayer game bscly hopes to become as profitable as GTA:O one day.

That kind of poor is relative, i tend to not grind past 10mil because whats the point when you've spent over 600mil, all im gonna need the money for is future dlc.

Gotcha. But ill say that what was meant is that the functionality of the online mode of GTA 5, and their modes are badly implemented. It's terrible, and their online games as far back as GTA4 and including Max Payne 3 have had constant disconnects, and no way of solving cheating issues.

Their decision to put so much money and effort into Adversary modes too allows me to think they don't get it as they tried to turn GTA Online into some sort of Mario Party. There's a reason why they don't do constant Live streams anymore. Those modes they tried to hype up failed drastically and just aren't entertaining to play or watch. Klang and crew just don't get it.

The online is overall unbalanced and has become a hot mess, and Shark Cards can be partially blamed for this. But good for them for rolling in the cash, because despite all of this people continue to dump real money into the latest toy. I hope they use that money to make the next GTA Online better.

Now? 5/10

It's just overwhelms with negative aspects, such as forced advertisments, so-so netcode, glitches and absolutely terrible weapon & vehicle balance. However, if you manage to ignore that (solo sessions with the bois), it's still possible to enjoy. Game still offers bunch of customization both for character and your transportations.

The "behind the scenes" issue is that GTA Online's code is getting crappier and more unstable as time goes on. @Fun 2 has already mentioned that on more than one occasion.

How long R* devs can keep it viable (and playable) remains to be seen, but at some point in the near future, it HAS to be rewritten from the ground up to last another five+ years--and that will take time.

If R* doesn't already have a group of devs rewriting GTA Online, I'd be very surprised.

6/10. Maybe it's just because I'm bored with the game now but it pisses me off knowing this game has so much potential to be 1000% better than it already is. Rockstar is just frustrating as hell sometimes.

I’m not so sure that the code for GTA Online will be “refreshed” when GTA 6 is clearly in development and GTA Online is still financially successful. I am curious what will happen after GTA 6 is released, and hopefully GTA 6 Online even if it doesn’t fix the design issues of current Online will have better code.

A few years ago I'd have said 8 or 9 outta 10, and that's even with how sh*tty it ran.

But now, a 6 or maybe a 7 on a good day. Weaponized vehicles everywhere, forced incentive to fight and kill everything in sight, an even more dirty, petty, and immature fanbase than a few years ago, ridiculous prices and Shark Card ploys, I could keep going.

Either way, this isn't the same game as it was 2 or 3 years ago.

2013-2016: 10/10. So much fun to play with friends, and criminal mastermind is still one of the most fond memories of gaming I have.

2017 post gunrunning-present: 6/10. I stopped caring about the game the moment Rockstar stopped caring about balance. It's fun to mod cars i enjoy, and meme around with jetpacks and hovering cockroaches, but as gypsy said in one of his videos; "you just can't have fun and make money at the same time"

7¾.

The foundation of the game is solid (map, GTA universe ... etc) and simply unmatched, despite being a watered down version of V.

Unfortunately for us OGs, 6 years of being in one map without a tangible expansion, R*'s questionable practices and the toxic playerbase make us drift away from the game.

Then, we have the "behind the scenes" issues, the engine is showing its age and the game is barely running on hope and prayers. The crappy nature of P2P is not helping either. I believe we have a year or two worth of updates tops.

Lonely-Martin

Pretty much unrated, lol.

On one hand, this game can be a grind, it's vastly unbalanced, broken and full of bugs, they monitise the harassment and encourage so much crap through a lack of craftsmanship or just being ignorant, enable far too much cheating, and our freedoms and choices only reduced, with their next game showing they hope to be even cheaper and simple, lol. 0/10.

On the other hand though, probably the best game I've ever played, lol. So much content, many deep challenges I enjoy, many ways to play depending on the day, all of that. 10/10.

That f*cked up. 🤣

I think the fact that it has stood the test of time speaks for itself. Sure it has some flaws, but most online games have flaws too. I think some people have got high expectations. It has been kept updated for the last 6 years, all for free.

I'm giving it a solid 9/10.

Not an actual rating but in terms of what you are required to invest and what it pays out for that investment the game is not really worth it.

There are many better games out there now that do not require anywhere the near the time or money to be enjoyed to a larger degree anymore. The fatal flaw with Online is that fundamentally it was a decent game when it first was available and gradually improved but other games have since come along that are considerably better in many of the areas that Online was once unique.

6/10. OP MK2 has ruined a lot, phonecalls phonecalls and limited interiors. Someteims it feels this "sandbox" game isn't much of a sandbox much more.

GTAO has lasted this long because of two things:

- It has a great foundation (GTA V itself) as a base.

- It literally has no competitition. There's no Watch_Dogs Online, Mafia Online or Saints Row Online, the closest thing would be APB Reloaded and that's not exactly a good game either.

Except that all these updates aren't truly "free", you're expected to either grind an unreasonable ammount of time or to fork some RL cash to buy overpriced Shark Cards that have less and less buying power each update.

So yeah, it's not free, at all, they're not doing this because of their kindness of the hearts.

It's not going to be undercutting...not everyone will have $1,200 or whatever the f*ck the gen 5 consoles are going to cost, so it's likely a solid playerbase stays with GTA5 Online for at least a year into the new launch if not longer.

maybe 3/10? the base concept of "go wild in gta with your friends" is done fine enough but the absolutely blatant ways it's monetized really brings down the whole experience. I can't even afford a cool car without grinding for a few real life hours, which sucks because i'd rather be doing something that's actually fun!

It's still pretty fun to mess around and play different game modes but man some of the design make it really obvious R* wants to make you miserable.

Bad Beat is a perfect example. Tons of bullet-sponge AI with godlike aim and mini-miniguns that kill you in 0.25 seconds. I beat it with 3 other people and I got an insulting payout of ~17k.

I mean, 17k for that? I probably lost half of that with the amount of ammo and armor I used.

The mission isn't hard when the AI isn't screwing you over, but it's not fun.

It's just super sad to see R* go in this direction but Shark Card $$$ is profits I suppose.

GTA Online has been my best gaming experience to date.....every minute of it up till now....over 5 years of gameplay, creativity, friendships and drama

10/10

despite its many flaws, I am however a glass half full dude, but I have deffo got my moneys worth....

edit

7/10

since I have pretty much everything I want and have done most things I would like, its not as fun as I can find myself stuck with what to do...(I usually come up with something or stop playing) things are not as new and I know the map very well so it feels smaller....all my friends dnt play together like before so I play alone or with randoms more....and alot of the games I enjoy have empty lobbies

parachuting

regluar race, no stunts etc

quite a lot of fun adversayr modes believe it or not

eg the tron one

capture

hunt the beast

penned in

contact missions free from deluxos and oppressors....some on foot with actual normal guns and tactical play

however those are social and cant be controlled

does not get played as much but still every other day

7/10

what do you consider enjoyment tho? remember things like that are subjective...

you may very well enjoy using a jetski and hitting the waves or cruising with cars...how much does that cost?

I enjoy off-roading with my sanchez...I can steal one for free and ride away...does not take much time or money

if you are talking about owing all the best gadgets and toys then I think there should be a level or effort in getting them....maybe gta is a tad more than we'd like but then again the game has lasted this long and we are still talking about it...

also I dnt think the drive to want or own all the best gadgets has anything to do with enjoyment besides and interest in collection which is not a universal interest...

Me in 2013: It’s glitchy but nonetheless I can’t wait to see all the new stuff Rockstar is gonna bring to the game!

7.5/10

Me in 2019: Wow the game went from being cool and rising through the ranks of being a gangster to now about flying on broom sticks blowing up other players for the hell of it. Not to mention how EVERYTHING is overly expensive! I love it!!! Just kidding I don’t. Sure Rockstar added a bunch of stuff but really that doesn’t take away how futuristic the games become.

5/10
