As much as I enjoy areas like Mount Chilliad, it kind of loses it's lustre after you've seen everything. I would have gone out out of my way to go up there if there was another populated city. It would have stopped everyone clumping in to the same place on GTA Online as well.
G-proteinadenincyclase
Shouldn't a fast SSD allow for much higher top speeds in vehicles, especially planes? If that's the case, map is gonna have to be much, much bigger, I'm talking like 5 or 6 times bigger at least than GTA5. Otherwise you'll be able to travel across the map in 20-30 seconds, as can be seen here Edited November 13, 2019 by G-proteinadenincyclase Wrong link
Kris194
It will but they won't let you fly that fast. Mastah

Being able to drive or parachute to a city as detailed as Los Santos after driving or flying from another quality city would be great. GTA 5’s map is odd where it feels both huge and tiny at the same time. There are so many small details and different areas just in Los Santos alone but some parts of the map don’t feel as big as they could’ve felt with not many interiors, and you can drive across the map pretty quickly. I think a second city that also artistically captures the look and feel of it’s real life counterpart could really help a GTA map around the same size of 5 feel a lot bigger. I think there’s a very good possibility of more than one city in GTA 6 assuming the Housers would be interested or because of Online.

I think the reason GTA V's map feels so small is because of the ease of access. The highway system in GTA V is excellent, but it also makes the game feel more smaller. In San Andreas you had to drive around certain roads and it made the journey feel longer. Even IV felt like it took a while to get around Liberty City. The map of V when you first look at it feels huge, but then you really get to know it and you realize how close everything feels to eachother. You're meant to feel like Trevor is a long way away from Los Santos, but it never feels that way.
Secura
That and the fact that the game tunnels you into travelling the same route, there are several ways to get a location but most players will end up using a single route most times and travel it whenever they have to go somewhere, this leads to the map being smaller than it really is because you're only exploring the same area of the map rather than exploring many others. Pretty much. I always used the highways in GTA V, I very rarely went around the Vinewood Hills area as an example, that always felt longer. Secura
The same is true for the entire eastern coastline of the map, there's literally never a reason for the player to bother traversing it and if they never do that's a good percentage of the map that they never go to for no reason other than the game never provides a reason to or a method of transit that makes doing so viable. Bloodytears1666
They better make a bigger and empty map from the start, because those bunker thing interiors and placing one thing on another really killed 5 in terms of overall map design. What will be desert holder, later could play off as anything, with new ideas in future.

Trevor's trailer had more things going for it than any 10 interiors from GTA IV. don't mean to argue, that's just how i feel. i would like to see someone legitimately compare the number of interiors in IV and V though 24/7s are like fast food restaurants in IV. So there are a few in V. It was disappointing that you could enter Burgershot etc in IV but not V. VI needs to have 100% enterable 24/7s and Burgershots etc. Not pictures on a building wall, that look like one. Also you should to be able to “hold up” any enterable store. Having both gas stations AND fast food restaurants be enterable would be a good way of psychologically making a city in GTA feel larger in a way that’s be much easier than actually individually designing numerous interiors. Of course for all we know neither could be enterable in the next GTA but as a suggestion they would be good to help give a feeling of interiors.
