The Time Ranger
So comfort food is food that provides a sense of comfort and warmth, it's relaxing and familar and just tastes good. So what are your comfort games, ol reliables that you can just chill and relax to. Mine are as follows. Skyrim, I can almost recite the opening dialogue by heart, i've seen probably every random event and played over a dozen characters but I still come back to it. Trying a new playstyle, roleplaying with a backstory, just admiring the beauitful scenery and reading books in my virtual home, Breezehome ftw by the way. Did this on PS3 and now on PS4, when PS5 comes out and it is inevitably released again i'l probably do it again. Fallout New Vegas Very similar reasons to Skyrim, I mainly roleplay characters and try out different play styles. Last time I played I created a character based on the DC comics character Deadshot, he specialised in guns, sneak and survival. Quest wise he did whatever for money. Gta San Andreas and IV For these I just love to fly a jet in SA while blaring KDS-T and Radio X and mess about with cheats, and in IV play around with the physics and get into 6 star chases and try to reach a safehouse before NOOSE turn Niko into Swiss cheese, also bowling with cousin is always a relaxing time. So what are yours? Geisterfaust, trip, Mister Pink and 2 others
trip
GTA Vice City. I can't even count how many times I've played...since day one. My wife can even recite dialog verbatim. FO4 seems to be making the list. Actually that has been replaced with FO76 recently. But FO4 is one of those that I love to start a fresh game in and play to the end. But...since I'm old and have a serious connection to arcade games(3 arcade machine in my house); Donkey King (original) is my comfort game. Jason
These days, unfortunately nothing really. However when I was still playing my 360 and I wanted a game to chill out on, the Test Drive Unlimited games were my go to right up until I got a PS4. Would just whack on some music and go cruise about for hours on end, never got bored of those games. Geisterfaust
TheSantader25
Grand Theft Auto in general. It's a series that still to this date can cure any sort of depression or exhaustion I'm experiencing throughout the day. And it does not matter which one I'm playing or what I'm doing. It just feels like home. Ivan1997GTA, GrudgefromSanAndreas and Max.pain
Sanches
I used to play Battlefield 4 and Killing Floor 1/2 to relax and pass time. Now im just drifting across the games to escape from reality. The real comfort makes your surroundings rather than a game. I achieve maximum comfort whenever im home alone, chill and playing singleplayer games. Furry_Monkey
GTAO still does it for me, but these days I'm 100% in passive mode and doing very casual stunts on a motorbike. Gone are the days of battling strangers, or spending days trying to perfect a stunt for a 20 second video clip in a montage. Screw that! I like fun Geisterfaust and Ivan1997GTA
Koger
Fallout 76, Cities Skylines and The Crew 2 are my go-to comfort games at the moment. They're all quite relaxing.
DOUGL4S1
GTA San Andreas - Played a lot of it, it always feels familiar and there's a ton of stuff to do. GTA IV - My PC is currently broken, so I can't play it now. But it always felt somewhat relaxing, It's a great game to just drive/walk around and interact with the environments. Minecraft - Whenever I want to relax, I just pop into creative and start building. Once again, as my PC broke, most of my saves are probably gone (Windows issue, idk) and my notebook can't really run it over 20 fps, but I still love it. Tacymist
FO4. Been playing it since day 1 and I still haven't gotten bored of it yet. This is my go to game when I just want to relax and hunt some ferals. Mister Pink
Lotte
Enter the Gungeon with Spotify playing tracks that i might like instead of the game's soundtrack. Gungeon's the kind of game you can go into a trance playing, where you don't necessarily think as much as you react as things happen
LittleJesus
- Red Dead Redemption II: The most trending for me right know, I completed the game three times and can't get enough... sometimes I select a random save slot in one of the gang camps and spend a whole in game day there, just listening to coversations, hunting/fishing near by, do some shores, play poker or dominos, I never get bored.... - Grand Theft Auto V: GTA is always a comfort game but this is the only one I have on PS4 so I mostly just select R* Editor and role play as an NPC. * Honorable Mentions: The Last of Us Remastered; Even thoug it's a linear game I always come back to it, I just select a random chapter and play, same with Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy. Standard Deluxe 59
I find older games like Burnout 2 and 3 or the Midnight Club games to be more relaxing than than newer games. Though Wreckfest and Just Cause can be good for blowing off steam if I wanna just destroy things following a lousy day. GTA is also good to cruise around. Algonquin Assassin
GTA IV. Sometimes I just play it without doing any missions and zoning out listening to the radio, watching the tv shows, hanging out with friends etc. Probably not that much of a surprise lol, but it's one of the very few games I have that keeps me sane from the mad, mad world we live in. gooeyhole, Geisterfaust, KarimNTerr and 3 others

Mister Pink
Hmm.. I don't know. Some games give me so much nostalgia that I might just sit on a bus thinking about being in that world that I just want to boot it up and spend some time there. Skyrim: I just love that world. It's one of my favourite maps. It's not a perfect game but I never tire of just rambling through some fields, looking at the rivers and mountains. So beautiful. San Andreas: That map just feels like a second home in a digital world. This was a comfort game for a long time. GTA IV: When I crave a more concrete jungle and want some New York vibes, I can enjoy here. New York is my favourite city I've never been to. RDR2: It's still early days to feel a nostalgia for this place but the map is one of my favourites. If I wanted to just go hunting, looking at nice scenery, fishing, relaxing, this is a perfect game for that. Fallout 4: Is a strange and comforting place, despite the fact it's so dystopic. I get comforts there in how humanity still preserve's in face of adversity. I love how people keep tying to rebuiid their lives. I guess I'm in love with the Fallout world. All it's eccentricities. The horror, the danger, and the humour. It's a world, that has grown on me so much that I compose electronic music inspired by the wasteland. Uncle Sikee Atric
Euro Truck Sim 2 and American Truck Sim. It's an interchangeable thing for me, depending on what content I feel like fiddling with. Put on a few podcasts, or a few, decent music albums and just chill as the speed limit stops the miles drifting away too quickly. The constant stream of mods and updates also means there's always something new to test. Geisterfaust
jpm1
Wildlands. sneaking an enemy base in extreme mode. raiding it, and extracting with no damage is always a source a enjoyment. just walking into the dense jungle is fun in that game not really comfort, but a game that never disappoints me Eurotruck 2. i couldn't say why i love driving these machines across Europe. but i always have a good experience while playing this game love roaming ACO land too. not playing, just riding into the desert. and being in awe in front of the scenery. love harvesting in FS19 also Edited November 3, 2019 by jpm1

Guest Billy Russo
The Sims. Whenever I was stressed and anxious, The Sims always provided me with comfort and security. Having a perfect world and perfect life I could control in-game. That sort of thing. Building houses was also very therapeutic.
Guest Billy Russo
I'd say Vice City as well. It's the most chillest GTA game by far. Mostly for the music. It's a game where you could just sit in the car and listen to the Radio stations because they are that damn good. I've actually done that many times. trip
I've only ever played the PC and mobile VC. I'm with ya on it not aging bad. Might be biased though. No sh*t...just last night I was thinking and got excited... -pardon the quick story- Just last weekend I had to rebuild my gaming rig. I lost my OS drive. So anyway I have a pristine install now and I hope it clears up an issue with me being able to stream from my PC to my xbox. Then I can play VC all big screen like from my couch. During this fantasy thought I came to a question; will I have 360 camera movement. IIRC console VC had that horrible 90degree camera jumps and not a smooth 360 camera. *might not be an issue if they added kb/m to streaming. I ramble. Guess I could just use some comfort VC at the moment. Fireman
Disco Elysium is a real comfort game, if you haven't played it yet and you like comfort, relaxed gaming. This is a good one. Like others mentioned any kind of sim game is often very relaxing because of the slow pace. RPGs are good comfort games too or citybuilding games such as Anno, Sim City, Tropico.
