Caffeination
Seeing that we have a thread for our characters, it only makes sense that one for exhibiting their firearms should exist as well. Here's what you can do to contribute:- Pictures of Firearms: Pretty straight forward! Be kind enough to share what you've applied, it'll incentivize readers to give their weapons a personal touch and share them here as well. Discussion/Critique: A weapon thread will obviously welcome discussions about weapons. Say what you think about certain guns, what you like and dislike about them, that kind of thing. Ideas: You can also talk about wishlist weapons and customization options here! I'll start with my Cattleman. It was plain for the longest time, until I've recently made it all nickel, dressed it in ivory grips, and applied baroque-style nickel engravings on it. Looks almost as luxurious as the LeMat now, doesn't it? FRIDA_KAHLO and Ragnar Stalheim

Ronin Ogami
(Dual wielded **like you needed to ask**) My primary go-to. Heck, if I could snag three star pelts with these I'd never use another firearm. Done up with black metal & gold engravings & all the upgrades. I bought all the grips, & cycle through them as I please. atm I'm using ebony grips. On Xbox one ( late for the new cards) I found it to be beastly for headshots even before the Gunslinger's Choice card. GC doesn't seem to remove the bloom the same as it does on the double action revolvers or mausers. However the slight damage boost is still welcome, though. Almost always used with express rounds. sometimes I pack some explosive express "just in case", but for the most part, things are calmer, & I'm only attacked w/o provocation every couple weeks or so, not hours. Can not, absolutely CAN NOT downplay how often the scattershot rounds have saved my bacon in & out of Showdowns. I'll post the pics of my other tools as soon as I remember to grab some photos at the gunsmith. Foxwolfe
I'm just not big into the designs of any of the current pistols, which is funny considering the high powered pistol was my most used handgun in RDR. Currently all of my longarms are rocking a copper frame and black or blued steel barrel with that new grey birch varnish? My revolvers are all a bit different but usually both matching (as I always used them as pairs). I'll post up a pic or two when I get a chance. Slonitram
They're all perfect for killing, plain and simple. I don't really spend much time or currency customizing my weapons. I like to keep them fairly simple. I only added engravings to my Lancaster Repeater because I bought them by accident and figured I might as well keep them, lol. kcole4001 and Caffeination

Alright then. Here's what I've done with my Semi-Automatic Pistol and Mauser. I customized the Semi-Automatic Pistol with a gold trigger and bolt, a Wild Cherry standard grip, and golden baroque engravings. I've done this since the firearm it's based on had only 5000 pieces produced, so I view it as an exquisite collector gun. My Mauser, however, stays plain since I like it that way. As a side note, the standard manufacturer's engraving on the frame goes away if you try to apply custom engravings, so all I did was change the varnish to Wild Cherry. MitchMaljers
I wish they would release that M1899 Pistol for consoles, and not make it a PC exclusive, which is super lame. Tasty_Pasta and Caffeination

There's no reason not to. Even if you don't like 'em, their benefits are pretty great. Pretty cool bonuses for relatively little money, given how easy it is to get cash in this game. It'd be foolish to turn it down. Ronin Ogami

Coleco
I got a little work done to my Schofield - blued steel all over with the exception of the trigger which I kept in the original iron finish. Funny how just changing the color of a weapon makes me want to use it more... this gun has earned me the 'kills as a coach passenger' award (mostly while on Love and Honor). Pew pew! Dark Spark
I'm petty. I gave my knife a mesquite grip because it looked nice. Now all my guns have to have mesquite furniture to match. Caffeination and kcole4001

With the exception of my Cattleman and LeMat, I gave all my handguns a Wild Cherry grip and black finish to fit what I gave my knife. It feels nice having a uniform color-code for the weaponry on your gunbelt.

Slugs are for medium range, while shells are for short range. You're bound to waste shots with either if you use them the other way around. I thought it was odd because I got some medium range kills from my horse after this. I just saw the slugs had more accuracy and assumed they were better. Now we have gun lockers I've set myself a target of owning every gun in the game but upgrading and using them for a while, not just buying and putting them in the locker. Bought the double barrel shotgun today so I'll try swapping the ammo depending on range and see if it helps. Caffeination and kcole4001
Next-Gen Vercettis
So I have tried the double barrel with the shells instead of slugs. Wow, what a difference! 3 less shots before reloading but when I'm not missing a shot I can live with that lol. kcole4001 and Caffeination

It’s a great weapon, yet sadly under-appreciated and under-estimated since everyone goes for the Semi-Auto instead.
