PS4 controller thingy i made.

Something i wanted to share:

It allows me to hold the camera in this position - and watch the aircraft from a different angle.

It reminds me of the shoulder camera in GTAIV, the ground seem to zoom faster by and i can watch the actual aircraft from the side, instead of just its tail.

And i can control it, without paying attention to my thumbstick too much.

Can be this used for AFKing? Seems to put less wear on the sticks than a rubber band.

Yep, it actually can, when used on left stick.

I'm still on PS3, but I know right stick on last gen can be used to go AFK.  Do we know right stick doesn't work on CG?

 

Clever, subversive, and old-school mechanical. Not even a hack, I'd say.

Can I ask what filament you used? Looks like PLA or ABS? Does it really matter for a part of this size?

It's common PLA 1.75 with Draft settings in Cura. I even printed it in height, it's holding up.

this is a sick idea....I get bored of the behind camera angle , especially flying a buzzard, so i hold my thumb in the right spot to change the view to the side and down a bit.

 

one of the THPS games got this right.....they let you move the camera angle with your thumb to find the angle you want, then if you clicked in the thumbstick, it would lock the camera angle to that spot.

Well, you can also this to tilt the view in FPV to the controls, especially if you fly some bombing runs or during a blizzard at New Year.

For those, who don't have 3D printer, i made the greyprint with sizes and dimensions, so you can make it from plastic, wood, metal, etc. The dimensions are in metric millimeters.
