This is the way I go about it. Grab a Bounty, take my time to get to the target (you get 15+ minutes in travel time). Along the way I do a little hunting and put it in the Hunting Wagon (Trader). Maybe I find a Collection item along the way. I capture the bounty, and loot everybody there. Sometimes I found Collectibles. Then I take the bounty to a different town then the one I picked up the poster from. Rinse repeat. All three roles played at the same time. And I honestly think the best way to play these roles is all at once, taking your time, and going from one activity to the next as you come across it, aimlessly wondering around the map. But, Collectible items are EVERYWHERE, so if only one, grab that first. Another way to look at things Collector: Medium/High Cash/XP, No/Low Action Trader: Medium/High Cash/XP, Medium Action Bounty Hunter: Low/Medium Cash/XP*, High Action. A thread of mine is pinned at the top of this sub section with tons of information including a spreadsheet with a complete breakdown of all the roles. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't already. Edited October 22, 2019 by CaliMeatWagon DonJulio
Surebrec
depends what you want from them. if you want to make money, the collector wins hands down. if you want gold, bounty hunter. trader is ok, but it takes maintenance to keep it rolling, and if the camp bug strikes when you run out of supplies, you're up sh*t creek until you can find an instance you can get it working in again. I also found the trader role also had the infuriating habit of grinding to a halt when it was most inconvenient, such as when the above mentioned camp bug hit, or if I was doing something else. Karen Daniels
I would say it is subjective and situational (I will explain in a bit). If you are someone who wants to go for the PvE element, enjoy playing with friends and are down for a slight challenge here and there, then Bounty Hunter is the way to go. The legendary bounties that have been added are a great escalation style of challenge that offers decent replayability. If you want a laid back experience to just relax with and get lost in the world... Collector. Once you get the shovel and metal detector, go into defensive, ride around with the detector out and just turn off your mind while you wait for it to spark. Honestly, after long and stressful days at work, this is how I unwind these days. Now for the Trader... it is situational. If you are having issues with your camp spawning, then this may feel like a chore as it is heavily based out of your camp. It is also very similar to the business runnings of GTA Online and will have that familiar gameplay loop. If that is something you are into, go for it. All three have really fun free roam events as well. Bounty Hunters can work together to bring in gangs of NPCs (and in the higher levels go after player bounties). Collectors can salvage goods from wrecks, adding to their goods to sell to the Madam for good profit. And Traders get one of the most fun ones....protect a train with goods on it for 3 stops and get supplies and materials for your business. If you have the gold for all 3, I would say get them all, get to at least level 5 in them, by that point you will know which you wanna max out first.
