A late 80's/ early 90s game set in Liberty City would be awesome IMO

Atmosphere wise it might be good, but I personally think if Liberty City ought to be brought back at an earlier time period, it should be the 1970s where the mafia controlled several industries and had more influence. That plus the fact New York was just worse back then than it is now. I think it's a perfect setting for a GTA game, more so dare I say than Liberty City's 2008 rendition in GTA IV.

I don’t really know about, I hear a lot of people say that certain games should be set in the 80s or 90s, but these time periods are not the only one. Modern era Gta’s are still great. Also if it was set in the 80s we could not use Internet Website like in Gta V...

Agreed,70s or 80s LC would be awesome to see.From what I've heard,most of New York was a really tough and dangerous place back then.

Heck yeah I’m for it! Rockstar can add all those awesome venues from that time A7, Max’s Kansas City, CBGB, Peppermint Lounge, Mudd Club. Man I could go on and on about those clubs. The punk scene in the 80s was thriving at that time. So many awesome bands. One in particular is Reagan Youth. They were such an awesome band RIP Dave Insurgent I miss you dearly.

I'd rather see the Late 80s/Early 90s in Carcer City or some other rust belt city because not only that's when all of it's manufacturing went on the decline and crime skyrocketed in cities like Detroit, but also because I don't wanna see Liberty City again like goddamn give us a new place

Taxi Driver was such a good film. I'm just imaging trawling the late night, and how gritty a GTA in this setting would be. The vehicles, too.

 

 

70's Liberty City would be excellent. I really would love to see Rockstar take a risk like that. They haven't gone back in time for a while. I know a lot of people don't want to see Liberty City again, but a completely new time period would make it feel really fresh IMO. I agree with those who don't want modern Liberty City just yet, but I'd be fully down with a 70's setting.

I actually agree with this. I love Liberty City, but it's been featured in way too many Grand Theft Auto games.

 

I think they should stick to Vice City for Grand Theft Auto VI, because they STILL have yet to do that city in the HD Universe. Plus VI, Vice? It fits the title.
