Anyway, the bounty, think I echo what a few here have said. Great idea, not so great execution. Ghost man can insta kill you with a machete, which makes no sense. Then once you do get to the "normal" bounty part hogtying him, picking him up and placing him on your horse is legit one of the most annoying things I've ever done in the game. First of all we're in the swamp, so yer horse bolts at the noise of wind, then we have night folk spawning super close to you with OHK melee but even worse is the alligators, you best not pick that f*cking weirdo up with an alligator spawned cause they take multiple shots with a pistol and you can get stuck in animations and bitten in half. Ended up sprinting out the swamp on foot. Can't imagine how bad it could get on higher difficulities.

 

Would have been cooler if it starts with you dropping down in the swamps, your horse bolts and you have to go through on foot looking for him with night folk doing their thing. No alligators. Or maybe just you still ride up to him and he gasses you and then you wake up and you have to work your way through the swamp on foot while tripping out with night folk and giant animals roaming about.

This was the first legendary bounty I brought in dead, and not on accident. I hated this whole turkey of a mission. Shot him and never did it again cause he can't escape from jail as he's canonically dead far as I'm concerned

I tested it again and if you don’t move in the dream scene he spawns at the same place every time so he can never surprise you when attacking.

One shot to the face kills them instantly. 

This one seems ridiculously easy to stealth kill the enemies compared to other bounties. Most of them are fishing and you can just walk up to them with your knife out. Plus they are spread out a lot more than previous ones

Finally got around to uploading Carlier on 5 star. The only annoying part is loading this guy on your horse. Enemies don't show up on radar so if you're not careful you'll get a machete in the back or even worse an alligator instantly killing you. It gets much easier with practice. Here's my latest run:

if you don’t care about bringing him in dead then just roll in with your horse and lasso the son of a gun and high tail it out of there, dragging him behind you and skipping all the gators and enemies.

 

If you want to keep him alive then lasso him and drag him to the road (not too far or he will die) from the road you have a better view of the gators coming to attack you as they won’t be on the minimap.

The masks are awful. So we have horse masks, human masks and bright green gun wraps. In less than a year this game has seriously lost the plot.

I’ve had a gator chase me all the way to the outskirts of Saint Denis, what the f*ck. Might’ve followed me into the city if I hadn’t killed it when I noticed it.

Gators and Nightfolk on foot won't enter the city. However, Nightfolk on horseback will follow you all the way to Saint Denis Jail.

Remember Redemption1? I hated Seeing zombie players in free roam. I hated seeing players riding bulls and zebras. I hated seeing zombie players riding bulls and zebras. I hated the explosive rifles in multiplayer. It got so ridiculous, and I fear Red Dead Online will follow in the same footsteps.

I just tomahawked all the alligators, they go down in one shot. Its also silent, so you don't alert the entire swamp to your presence until you hogtie the bounty.

I saw a decent tutorial video, and the method isn't too hard to pull off:

 

- Bring a shotgun (semi-auto is ideal, but pump-action will do) and a rifle (bolt-action works for me).

- Shoot the magically-appearing Carliers with the shotgun.

- Use anything you like on the swamp folk when tracking down Carlier (but keep the rifle handy in case an alligator joins in).

- Important part: when you catch up to Carlier, chase him enough to get him far inland, and if necessary, use a regular lasso (not reinforced) to drag him away from water.

- Have your rifle handy, and then load him on your horse - you should be far enough away from water that it takes a while for any alligators to catch up.

- Shoot any if you need to, but better to just get on your horse ASAP and get the f*** out of Dodge...

 

 

Admittedly, I've not tried it on five-star difficulty yet, but it's worked so far - particularly the shotgun on Carlier(s) at the beginning, and the lasso trick near the end.

From what I’ve seen, he runs into the nearest shack ‘guarded’ by Night Folk, hoping that the distant stealth archers would snipe you to death or you become dinner to off-radar gators. If you survive that wave, he’ll run out of the shack and try to escape to another one before the next wave starts.

Fixed it! I just hogtied him and he escaped running towards St Denis. Lassoed him from my horse and draged him out of the swamp! And he survived!!!

I hogtie the npc’s toss them in the water, then use the Springfield on the gators and let the rest come then hogtie him and kill the rest that show up. Works best is if you’re on the porch of one of the buildings, then you can just funnel the gators. Pick him up and take him to jail
