Paper Mario
Hey everyone, I had some random thought popping up in my head about the hidden things we usually get to find and collect in GTA games. I don't know anything about GTA V's hidden collectibles, but I am sure they're just props to find. How about we have something like this in the next GTA though? Music sheets. Let me elaborate. We always were introduced to many fun activities in GTA games, no? We have golf, pool, darts, bowling, tennis and such. But have we ever had the option to do something with musical? I'm going to use Starbound as an example here. In Starbound it is possible to find music instruments throughout your adventures. Once you collected one, you got a list of songs that you could play alone or together with friends. This was a fun addition, but there wasn't much else to it. For GTA 6, I had something like this in mind. Let's say there are a few instruments that you can hold and play? Once you find an instrument, you get the option to play around 10 songs without having found any music sheets. Throughout the world Rockstar will hide additional music sheets, waiting to be found by you. This will expand the list of songs you will be able to play. However, I don't want to restrict it to just that. There's more I thought of. For example, being able to buy songs in stores so you can play these. And with some songs, you can have certain features being available. Features like certain songs causing certain reactions from the world around you. Let's say you're in a fight, and you play a certain song that makes everyone passive and/or dance? Or if you start a certain song in the street, a crowd will follow you in a conga line, like those orange people in lines in GTA 1. Or perhaps you can sync up with your friends at the beach with your instruments, create a party and earn cash that way from a crowd? Simple little things. It's not a necessary feature, but it's something to add to the world and for fun gameplay experiences. You could play a song on a trumpet, leading a group of people into their doom. Or you could start playing a song to calm/confuse/scare wild animals that want to kill you, in case you're out of bullets. Or perhaps you want to see if you can annoy pedestrians with it. What do you guys think of this? Would it be a fun addition, or a waste of resources? VenusianDream and Gentlebreeze 1
Americana
Yeah, well. Personally, I think that 'Collectibles' are waste of time, but they could be a good addition to the game if they had some kind of a purpose - I'd like to see drug packages, like in Grand Theft Auto III, which we could sell for profit. I think that's the only reasonable thing. Grand Theft Auto IV had pigeons, which is cool, but it's a boring, unnecessary task. (But please, not music sheets... come on.) Lotte
yeah it's a unique idea but i don't know if the mechanic of searching for music would be fun or even like...anything but tedious, really. also having bard abilities might work better in a game where there aren't also guns and where you're a bit safer at far range also if they were to put musical instruments into the game i think the way to play them should be to make every button on the controller (except the one that you exit out of Instrument Mode with) map to a note or whatever

Sure, I never went for collectibles either. I sometimes find some at random, but I don't hunt for them. There are too many and you don't really get anything out of it. I don't care for 100% completion. And hey, it's just an idea. Thought it would be interesting in a certain way.
Americana
I mean, I can see developers implementing that in the game. I guess it would be a good idea for them, but I just don't fancy it.

I mean, there are already things out there to collect, but I don't search for those as they're pointless to me. But I understand you. I do know instruments would be weird for GTA, but thought if implemented well, it could be fun perhaps. Not like the yoga we got... lol And yeah, having the ability to play notes yourself would be funny too. Just now, Ronald Reagan said: I mean, I can see developers implementing that in the game. This merely would just be an extra. But I would damn well prefer this over yoga, lol. DexMacLeod
DexMacLeod
I think if they do collectibles there should be some kind of reward to it. I don't really like just wandering around aimlessly in a game and that's what GTA's collectibles tend to feel like. I think they did a better job of this in V with the spaceship parts giving you a "spaceship" and both the letters and the submarine parts had a bit of a story to them. I'd like to see them expand on that and give better rewards. Maybe one collection gets you a cool outfit and another gets you a rare weapons or something. They could do this with the side missions/activities, too. I always thought doing all the races in V should net you a cool car and the skydiving should have given you the helicopter. Would have been more fun than occasionally getting stock tips at least. Pink Pineapple

I did see a mod for that, where the guy collected stuff around the mountain and such and had to shoot aliens at the end. but does the vanilla game have a spaceship too? Dock
Useful collectibles would be nice, but not musical instruments lol They could revisit what they did in GTA O back when they were promoting RDR2 by hiding notes around the map that lead you to a secret weapon. Ron Horse
I like having stuff like Hidden Packages to look for. Not sure how it would apply in the next iteration of Online, but I'd be all for it. Especially if it unlocks something in your safehouse/business or whatever. t-p-d-a
I have a idea. GTA 6 takes place in Vice City in modern time. You can found old car pieces. If you found all 100 car pieces, you can build your own Deluxo. With the deluxo you can travel in the 80s MrBreak16
Thomas Cavendish
The collectibles must be useful. You must get a reward. And they must be scattered in just a neighborhood, not all over the map. Each type must be related to that specific neighborhood.

VenusianDream
It's not that bad of an idea, although I think the collectables should be something a little bit better than musical notes. How about collectable comic books (Or maybe just figurines) that are parodies of the irl superheroes, like The Brown Streak and Impotent Rage and more? It'd be a quick funny little read and would keep us wanting to search for more. Or perhaps some 80s retro games that we can play on the protagonist's old gaming console at their safehouse? Kinda similar to Fallout 4's pipboy games but funner. San Andreas made collectables interesting with the tags, oysters, and photography. The Mafia series has Playboy and automobile magazines and vinyl records. The next game should have something more like those instead of just packages or pigeons. lol232
Yeah, the collectibles were really a honk of sh*t in the HD era since all you got was useless stupid sh*t. Exception being TLAD since Innovation was a good bike. GTA IV gave you an Annihilator that can already, and even more easily, be acquired without completing the pigeons, TBoGT gave you a redundant reward that makes a tank spawn at a construction site when you can already call to have one delivered wherever you are without it, then GTA V gave you an almost useless space docker, a boring "kill this guy OR not" mission and enhanced version bonus gave you a pretty worthless car and some outfits for Trevor. SA's collectible rewards were pretty meh as well but at least it was something. NightmanCometh96
Evil empire
Collecting music sheets to unlock more songs in the radios would be cool, playing music to make money can be cool too, the rest would only fit in a RPG.
