[SA/VC/III] Getting rid of cleo watermark

Hi to all! That cleo watermark in the pause menu really bothers me! Does anyone have any idea how to remove it? I already tried using a Hexadecimal Editor (HxD) and that partially worked. I was able to remove the "Cleo v4.3" and the "# scripts / # plugins" parts but the number of scripts and plugins remained leaving 35 in my case (3 scripts and 5 plugins).

Edit : SOLVED

cleo.asi (San Andreas) v4.4.3 [15.05.2023]

VC.CLEO.asi (Vice City) v2.0.0.6 [05.11.2021]

III.CLEO.asi (III) v2.0.0.6 [05.11.2021]

Great news! I did it! Get the CLEO.asi for GTA:SA above! Repost this so people learn about it!

Nice. Did you compiled the source code after do the modifications? Or was via hex editing?

Hmm, I have never played Vice City. But I will take a look at it. What version of cleo do you want exactly?

Now I'll have to install GTA 3 too. I tried Vice City and just "NO!". I can't play anything from the GTA series with worse graphics than SA. Hurts my eyes.

By the way, based on Silent's answer on a similar topic, I thought it was impossible to remove the watermark, even when tampering with the source. Anyways, I didn't want to install Visual Studio again.

It would be super nice if you could do the GTA 3 version of this also, i saw that you said the graphics are horrible, but it's a 2001 game anyways. Plus, you probably wouldn't even have to go ingame, just do the same thing you did for GTA SA and VC since they all run on the same type of engine.

I'd like you to do some testing since I don't wanna buy the game. Does this work as expected?

Also remove all unnecessary trash from fla, which makes the asi bigger, like "nice picture", annoying 8bit music and message when starting the game.

I've never used FLA, so I didn't know it had watermarks. I can try 🙂.

Pretty sure you can disable FLA's loading bar watermark by adding "Disable FLA loading text = 1" in the ini, for the windows startup thing it gives you a code for disabling it.

I don't know about the music though.

And sorry for bumping into this old post.

VC and III versions have been updated. Again, inform me of any issues as I didn't do any thorough testing, I don't usually play these games.
