Let's take a look at rumor we have regarding story of GTA VI.

You will start as a small time guy in Liberty City doing odd chores and small-time thefts and eventually work your way to Vice City where you will join a famous gang. You will be tasked to look after business in liberty city until you are brought back to Vice City and soon become the drug lord.

 

What if GTA VI is really complex story of becoming drug lord? So as far as rumor goes, you start in Liberty City, no one cares about you and doesn't know that you exist, you're basically no one in this world. You're stealing some things, doing odd chores. At some point you join famous gang in Vice City where you're getting more and more important. Maybe once gang members trust you enough you start to overlook supplies from Colombia to Miami? At some point you become the drug lord, you're the one "running" Vice City.

My point is that they have to make a good deal with sony. If it´s a good deal, then they will make more money than ever before. And both will profit from it.

 

This time it´s a bit different. People bought 2 or 3 copies of the game for the PS3/PS4/PC. This time? Maybe two. The only point to buy it for PC are the mods. The consoles are more powerful than ever. Not sure if the current gens are powerful enough for GTA 6 or if they make it for the old consoles at all? What do you think?

 

I don´t think that there is just one way to make profit, it depends on the contract between Sony and Take Two, right? If there is no such contract, you are right. People have to wait a couple of years more. We have to wait and see what happens. I´m sure we will hear about it soon.

If sony offers a 2 billion deal (something that will never happen) maybe Rockstar could accept.

8 years per game isn't sustainable, I'm certain RDR2 went past original schedule cause of other projects and obviously rewrites and bugs.

Who said that GTA VI is their next game?

A few years between games is viable if your online mode makes 500 million to 1 billion a year and your game from 6 years ago sells 1 million units per month.

I don't think so. If they are indeed working on what 2 most believable rumors suggest then I wouldn't expect announcement next year. Why? Because it will be giant game and if it was planned almost 2 years ago for 2021 or 2022 then it can easily slip into 2023. Yes, sounds painful but it would be worth to wait.

I wonder if we could see an announcement of GTA VI for next gen in late 2020 with a planned release date of fall of 2021. Wasn't RDR2 and GTA V announced in the fall? It would make sense. Announce GTA VI (in late november or december of 2020) after the next gen consoles have released in the weeks prior. That way, people can pre order a game for a console that DOES exist. This would supercharge console sales and by next fall there would be an install base. Now granted, GTA VI probably wouldn't actually release in fall of 2021. We know how those delays go with Rockstar. GTA V was supposed to release in the fall of 2012 but got delayed by a year. So after delays we could see a release of GTA VI in the spring or fall of 2022? Just throwing some logical thinking out there

Easy. World Trade Center could be called World Center of Commerce, no need to make it emotional. Also, buildings in Grand Theft Auto don't get funny names.

I´m not sure. I have a PS3 but never really played on it. I´m a GTA V modder and love to play on PC only. 

 

There has to be something huge that forces me to play 6 on a console.

Not only huge company, but they have different studios around the world (I believe that most of the Rockstar fans know this tho) so the only thing that would make me believe that this application is for GTA6 or GTAO is that the application itself is for Rockstar North which mostly works on GTA titles.
But again, as MrPhillips said, they have multiple main focuses.

That wouldn't ruin the generation. It's not even a terrible idea. They already have an all digital edition Xbox One S. It's like PC gamers who build a PC without a disc drive. 99% of PC gamers buy games digitally, and that's where consoles games are heading. Although I don't think it will be 90% digital any time soon. I myself have gone all digital the past 6 years, minus a few collectors editions. At least this way, if you know you're going all digital, why not save a little money? It's not innovative or really that great. But it certainly wouldn't ruin the generation.

There's nothing stupid about it, it's just a disc-less console with weaker hardware, probably going to be equivalent to an XBOXOX.

That's basically over 2x slower than PS5 and Xbox Anaconda. It will really affect game development and graphics. 4TF console as a baseline while PS5 will be >10TF is really, really bad.

The last game they released is RDR2, so it's one year since their latest release.

RDR is nothing compared to GTA 6. GTA 6 will be the next real big release after V and my guess is that it will be announced "soon".
