70s Liberty City and 80s Vice City would be amazing. In real life NYC went through a really hard historically interesting time it would be a perfect playground for a engaging GTA story then fast forward a few years you got Vice City in the 80s the sun, sex and drugs.

SSD will become new hardware requirement in PC games, it's as simple as that. HDD is very outdated tech and should be used now only for storage and backup.

it will take many many years before SSD's become the norm and if the game releases in just few years, the small amount of people with the required hardware wont make releasing PC version commercially viable for R*...

VR is also expensive. PC's are moving towards VR as a mainstream thing. The fact is, PC gaming is a niche thing. I'm a PC gamer and I'm not made of money but the beauty of PC gaming is also how varied and versitile it is.

SSDs have been a thing in the PC world for many years already, I don't have any data but I would say that the majority of gaming PCs have one by now. Even the cheap sh*tty laptops you can buy now all come with an SSD.

yes, but for most of them capacity and speeds are nowhere near the level of the new consoles SSD's

and R* will surely utilize them fully

Bloody expensive? 1TB for like ~100$ is not bloody expensive. It's lower than cost of low-end GPU. Even many cheap laptops nowadays have SSD. Personally I don't have any HDD in my PC since 2014 but it doesn't mean, that I don't have them at all.

I'm not sure, whether you'll really need SSD with 2GB/s read speed, even SATA III SSD is game changer.

We'll have to wait and see how much that speed will actually be used, but even now NVMe SSDs with comparable speed to those of next gen consoles are not cheap but not even that expensive.

Only PS5 will use PCI-E 4.0, multiplatform games will still have to be made with XSX SSD read speed in mind (~2GB/s). That's still 20 - 40 times faster than now.

Yes, VC and VCS already had this with the Domestobot. Not to mention there was some robot caught by the police in Beverly Hills during the 80s. Turns out it was 2 boys operating it.
