He commented the circle complete thing in response to someone posting a picture of tumbleweed. Because, if you remember, he started RDR2 riddles with the topic "will there be realistic tumbleweeds in RDR2?" Therefore, the circle between his first leak and his most recent one (GTA VICE) was complete. It was a tongue in cheek little reference.  He would've commented that no matter what date the other person had attached to the image. 

 

 

I'm all for speculation and hype too but attaching March 25th to this guy is just going to end badly when the 25th brings radio silence from Rockstar.

You don't need to remind me. I know it full well. In fact it goes against your own argument. GTA V was announced 3 and a half years after GTA V. Yet GTA VI will be announced at least 6 and a half years after GTA V. The gap is getting larger, the wait is getting larger. Where Rockstar were able to release games almost every year, now they release one every 5.

 

At this point, I don't even know what the 'argument' is anymore. I only stepped in to answer somebody's question as to why we've waited over 6 years. All this is becoming beside the point.

There'll be longer between the last GTA release and GTA6 announcement than there was between the last two GTA release dates. Gta4 - 04/08 GTA5 - 09/13. 5 and a half years. Current time passed since GTA5 and no announcement - 6 and a half years.

Please no (retro?-)futuristic/cyberpunk stuff in GTA VI...

I'm hoping that its just a hint at being set in (modern day?) Vice City. But I mean, everyone got that by now.

That would be a fatal mistake from Rockstar. I am sure (and I really hope) they won't do it.

As you’ve said he’s teasing a lot about Robots (he posted like 4 videos about that I think) so maybe the game is set in Gta Vice City’s future aka modern days (2020) instead of 80’s as we thought ?

If The Weeknd has something releated with GTA VI and the robot stuff, he comes back to the past and if im not wrong in that decades they loved all that kind of robot and future distopic stuff, Terminator and a lot of other films with the robots were made in the 80's

I seriously can't imagine a futuristic GTA. Knowing R* it would probably still be a masterpiece but it wouldn't even feel like a proper GTA game IMO

That's what I'm hoping too.

My personal guess is that the game will be set in the modern-day era. I think the (great) 80s music is just an overall nod to Vice City (that unforgettable 80s vibe and nostalgia connected to that city that continues on in the GTA universe, even today- think of Vice City FM in GTA: EFLC).

However, I'd not mind if the game would go back to the 80s, but please just not the future.

Speaking of sci-fi setting for GTA, there is actually an interview with Dan Houser from 2013 where he says that that the idea of sci-fi GTA is "very tempting"

Wow! But that make all the theory of Bogotá and Vice City drugs dealing trash, anyways in the interview he says that he wouldn't do nothing related with flying cars or laser arms so, it would be a light sci-fi gta

As much as I don't want the future I don't want the 80s Vice City as well. It has already been done.

Actually, personally I'm against setting the game in Vice City again, and I'd like to see some new fresh location instead, but that's just my opinion.

I had a discussion about this in another thread. There are some cities that I can imagine. As long as they don't resemble Liberty City I am fine with it.

Yea because set in 80's vice city would just be repetitive, enough of this 80's vice city. HD universe is meant to be all of the cities from 3D era turn into a modern day era.
