Firstly , he only have a forum account and he never linked his nonexistent yt account on here or somewhere else. Secondly , grandtheftauto6.net redirects to the real Wham video posted by the real Wham! account. Thirdly , that yt account was created in 2007 but anybody can change their name so it's not enough proof. That's why I would say don't believe anything outside the forums.

I believe that's a different account than the one that we saw yesterday. If this is the same account that uploaded Caribbean Queen someone linked on the previous page, then it's definitely different.

Or maybe they had in mind that the new generation would be released in 2021-22 and not in 2020, or some fact made sony and microsoft release them more early

Well, thats online, its entire structure is for making money, for actual games they definitely care.

Some of the heists theyve added in online are pretty fun tho

It could be. Maybe I am very biased towards the good old SAMP and MTA type of online because I have met so many wonderful people through them and had the time of my life when I was playing on either of them. But I don't think GTA Online has that magic. Maybe some people like that and that's okay.

There is something i dont understand from the point of view of Rockstar's interest, the most logical movement should be do something like them did with gta V, release a game that will be a bestseller in playstation 4 and also in playstation 5, right? I mean, they would win a lot of more money, why not? They waited one entire generation to release a new gta, that game probably would be one of the hardest and longest game to develop ever, 9 years should be enough probably, the most intelligent move i think that should be again release one gta at the end of ps4 and start of ps5, and have a lot of time more to develop a new monster like GTA is and also win a lot of money in both platforms (ps4 is not a beast, but the jump in graphic potential from ps3 to ps4 is bigger than ps4 to ps5 if im not wrong, so they can do a good work at graphics and map), having a constant source of money throughout the new generation . Or even some type of exclusive because the game station's war that is being delivered between ps5 and XBSX.

I know the chance is 0,1%, they would have annunced it yet in that case, but why they hadn't do that? All of that taking for granted that GTA VI is going to be the new Rockstar's game ofc.

It's simple. They can't release a game that doesn't exist. They haven't been working on GTA VI for 7 years, since GTA V released. They were working on RDR2. That's why we went an entire generation without a new GTA.

Of course, to some small extent they have been working on GTA VI. I don't mean they haven't been working on it at all. But with RDR2, that wa the first time they went all in, with all their studios on one single game. That's why they went 5 years with no new games, after GTA V.

If they were developing GTA VI while having current-gen consoles in mind then its a shame because the game will be hindered by their limitations, just like GTA V was hindered by PS3/X360

It would be such a waste. The PS4/Xone hardware is literal dogsh*t nowadays.

Wasn't GTA V the first game to be worked on by all the studios at once?

I really hope 6s online is structured more like MTA. I doubt it though, will probably be more like RDRO or the crew sadly.

It’s so crazy to think that I work a few blocks away from Rockstar NYC office. I am always speculating about the next GTA in my head knowing completely that it’s being developed just a few steps away. So close but so far away :(

No, Max Payne 3 was under Rockstar Studios, also. I would assume GTA V was, also. But for whatever reason, there's no mention of it. Besides, in them days, GTA was mainly helmed by Rockstar North, with help from other studios where/when needed. Same with RDR & San Diego. But RDR2 was the first MAJOR project that was in full development under all their main studios. Rockstar made a point to talk about that.

Ye, people should just create their own servers and code their servers. You had all kinds of possibilities and not just the standard "DM, TDM, race etc." gamemodes. We would see a return of RP servers or stunt servers.

I still think that Rockstar would have started work on GTA VI shortly after V was finished, even if the main focus was on RDR2. GTA's too big and valuable for Rockstar to be put aside as a side project. I mean, we know that all of the studios helped San Diego develop the game, but do we know if all of the employees of select studios helped, rather than mid-size teams from each studio?

I'm sure it did. But I'm just referring to active development, then full development after RDR2 wraps. Between 2013 & 2017/2018, GTA VI was most likely just pre production.

That's a long time to be in pre-production. If only a team of several people from North were helping with RDR2, the rest of the office could've easily worked on the game full-time. Of course, this is all based on an "if", but hey, a man can hope.

Pretty much everyone who is interested in tech suspected, that next-gen consoles will be released this year.

They did, some people just ignore interviews with Rockstar where they said, that about ~1500 developers have been working on RDR 2 and Rockstar has now probably about ~3000 developers. I'm sure, that they had fairly big team working on GTA VI since 2015/2016 and we will see results of this soon in trailer. Again and again, all studios =/= all developers. I said this few days ago, they created GTA IV in ~3 years with 150 developers on board. Whole game.

Around 150 game developers worked on Grand Theft Auto IV,[45] led by core members of the team that previously worked on Grand Theft Auto III (2001)

GTA 6 started pre production in 2012 and then full production in 2015.

That's presuming it went into production right after GTA V. Which we can't assume. Take for example Bethesda Game Studios. They release Elder Scrolls V Skyrim in 2011. And it's not until E3 2016 do we find out that BGS are waiting for technology before they do TES6. It was officially announced in 2018, but they're doing Starfield first. TES fans never thought they'd be waiting over a decade for a new Elder Scrolls game... Point being, IF Rockstar had plans or ambitions for GTA VI, that they could only do on next gen consoles, then it makes perfect sense why they'd wait so long to begin production on GTA VI. It's rumoured that PS5 devkits went out around April 2019, hence why Sony did the Wired article when they did. They knew that there'd be leaks when the hardware started to go out.

It was confirmed by Sony, there's no rumoured part about it.

Do you really compare Bethesda to Rockstar? Come on. Just check how many employees Bethesda has.

We’ve started to try to do that internally. We have a big monthly meeting with everybody at Bethesda Game Studios. That meeting gets streamed to the other offices. You’re looking at 400-ish people together in a meeting, and every month we have groups from the team come up and say, “Here’s what we did in the game this month. Here’s why it’s great.” We try to keep people focused in.

You could have 7 billion employees. Doesn't matter if the hardware isn't available. That was the point.

The fact that PS5 devkits arrived in 2019 doesn't mean that GTA 6 development began in 2019. It probably began at least few years back.

The game was developed on PCs anyway and will probably be then ported to PS5 using the devkits

Devkits are not needed in early stages of development, especially nowadays when consoles have a lot of things common with PCs, we're not anymore in PSX/PS2/PS3 era. Assets are being made with quality, that even PS5/XSX wouldn't be able to handle. You don't need devkits to make models or textures. Games are being made on PCs in engine (not entirely of course). Being made on PCs =/= being made for PCs.
