I heard somewhere awhile back that they had plans to release a game in 2020 obviously that’s not GTAVI, it would make sense for them to drop something before another gta title.  T2, I’m sure is pushing for them to release something soon.

Well why not have it perfect? I wouldn’t mind if we got it in 2022-23, it would just mean they have taken advantage of the new generation of consoles and the game would be far beyond amazing.

pretty sure he's a nobody. maybe he's hoping that something will happen tomorrow. if that were the case he could claim some credit and that's probably what he's hoping for. he wants to gain followers. if nothing happens tomorrow he will make a new account and try again in the future

I think he was warned on here for promoting himself. And I think he's doing the same on reddit, but pretending it's someone else?

I'm not even sure there is a consensus at this point. His earliest thread was the realistic tumbleweed in October 2017. A whole year after RDR2 was announced. You can look at things and read into them to make a case he was hinting at things, but there's nothing concrete. What is pretty interesting is the Usher Hall thread. What's most likely is that he gained knowledge somehow of Rockstar holding some sort of large event. And used that to start a thread, which gained a lot of traction. Maybe something similar is happening now? But to say he leaked the announcement date of RDR2, or leaked GTA, etc in the past is false. 

 

The problem is, this thread started to blow up, then reddit got wind of it. The problem with r/gta6 is they're so desperate, they read into every minute detail, thinking it confirms something GTA VI related. They heard about AliasSmithandJones and then loads of new users signed up here, and they're talking about this on reddit. Most people don't know who AliasSmithandJones is, a few people kinda' learn about him, then it gets spread that he is a leaker, and then it spreads more, being dumbed down and generalised each time. So now it is "he leaked the announcement date for RDR2" which never happened. And everyone is spreading false or incorrect information. And basing predictions or absolute expectations on this misinformed information.

Facts, I saw on Snapchat one of the news things (the countdown) said he was a leaker and they said the date he was hinting towards.

Yeah, he's absolutely hinting at dates, and locations, etc. Some obvious, some not so. The locations have been rumoured for a long time, though. And the dates? He's not actually saying them. But coincidentally, many of his videos reference them in some way. 

I just think many new people are learning about him recently, and they're being told things that either aren't entirely true, horribly misinterpreted or just warped from one thing to something completely different.

10 years would still be ridiculous imo. I'm pretty sure Rockstar only need around 4-5 years to develop a new AAA game larger than GTA V.

 

GTA VI should take no more than 6-7 years, this is including holiday breaks, recruiting and development of new consoles (optimisation) I think I am being generous with these numbers.

 

GTA VI was likely in development immediately after GTA V back in 2013. Also don't forget how GTA V trailer was released in 2011, so the game world and other aspects of the game would have been mostly complete a full year or two before release.

 

Assuming GTA VI has been in development since 2013-2014 then the game should come out no later than 2021, this gives Rockstar 8 years. How could this not be enough time?

Game is probably complete or almost done. Rockstar are likely seeing how much they can milk from GTA Online before sales start dropping so when sales do drop, Rockstar will then announce GTA VI. If people stop buying shark cards then maybe this will happen.

Well if there is no GTAO DLC until the summer now would be the time to announce it. Give the industry a boost as well. Everyone is done at the moment pretty much.

The script for GTA VI was likely completed before RDRII came out. It is one of the first things done in the cycle of making a new game. Dan Houser was the head-writer, ergo his job was done and he could move on.

Yeah, that would also work as well. Wouldn't mind an already established setting but for next gen but I would also not mind a completely new one as well.

No but restructuring how the company is going to work for the next few months will likely delay things.

How disappointed will you guys be if GTA VI is not set in VC?

 

Personally I was against the idea of revisiting VC because I wanted something new and fresh, but after watching Narcos and thinking about how the story could be played out with next-gen consoles in mind, now I will be disappointed if GTA VI is not VC.

 

Super fast SSD for huge open-worlds, Raytracing neon lights reflecting on the water from the city lights, 80's music quietly playing in the background while I'm cruising down the river with a boat load of coke in the back.

i have no idea if this scottish guy is legit people say so but the fact he has not been banned by the mods does say something .

im 50/50 on the 25th doubt it but the game most likely has been in the making since 2015 i would say it will be vice city defo  either way a 2022 release is likely .
