In the light of the PlayStation 5 reveal, and previously Xbox One Series X, I think we are in for an unprecedented leap in terms of in-game world streaming and draw distance. The consistency of the level of details as we travel a Grand Theft Auto world in a fast speed, and the lack of pop in, will take a next step and bring the immersion factor to a much higher plateau. This, combined with new visual and acoustic technologies, will make VI not simply an evolution, but a transformation in how we experience and feel a Rockstar-created world.

From that PS5 lecture the biggest thing I took away is how good it's going to be for open world games. They'd be leaving allot of money on the table making the next GTA next gen only...but I really hope that's the case lol

Knowing they can keep an online mode active for 7+ years I feel the design of the map is going to be even more influenced by the multiplayer than the single player. 

 

At this point all the new online content recycles the same areas of the map and while that's always going to happen at some point I feel they're going to want more room to play with spacing out another 7-8 years of missions, deathmatches and races this time knowing creating content and remaining profitable for that amount of time is very much possible.

 

So yeah I'm thinking big

It definitely seems like it. But they could have always added a North Yankton DLC for GTA 5 Online and add more stuff there
