GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion

Reading some of the latest comments here speculating related to The Weeknd clips with that retrofuturistic vibes, the lady robot artwork uploaded by R* and the similarities, etc. I started thinking if GTA would fit in a world more fictitious and distopian and if Rockstar would take the game that way being that they got us used to their worlds somewhat sticking to the real historical timeline of the real world. You can imagine R* doing just futuristic things like they do in GTA Online with all the flying things and sh*t but it's harder to picture them making something set in the 70 or 80's but with an alternate timeline.

 

At first I tought not but then I remembered about GTA2 and it's setting in Anywhere City and me personally am more attracted to the idea of a 80's distopia cause I think otherwise it would get pretty stale if it's just the 80's, and R* would want to make a game that lasts another 10 years. A kinda scaled down cyberpunk game would have soo much room to play, without saturating it with crazy futuristic things thanks to it taking place in the past where there was not that much of technology advancement.

 

Just somethin to think and fantasize about.

There is a leaked Harry Potter game (made for next gen) that might come out before GTA 6, it could even come out at launch

GTA set in a futuristic world would suck. Let's stick to the modern times or 70s - 80s at least

Yup. He only teased the 25th. The whole 20th logo change came from some random 4chan leak, which is 99% fake. I'm sure they'll do something unique for each game reveal. The logo change was a RDR2 thing, I think.
