Given everything I'm hearing. This is just the beginning. It's hard to believe that's happening. Not doubting you, just saying. Is that actually true?

Yes, but there`s no staff. no workers

My point is, that thing R* did with rdr2 announcement when they just updated logo, in black and red collors, that thing would not be as powerful now (corona) or September(CP2077) as it would be when the air is more clear.

Again, for fanboys it would, for casuals no.

Ok tell me then differences between casual and fun boys.

I dont think casuals are dump just to be clear.

A "fanboy"? Someone who reads this thread and is F5ing it and routinely checking Rockstar social media and websites while waiting for information about GTA VI.

A casual? Someone who reads and uses sites like: reddit, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, yada yada yada.

The moment GTA VI is announced, or any major AAA game for that matter, it'll go straight to the top of ALL of those sites where it will be seen by so called casual gamers.

If we're talking how easily people can learn about announcements and the like then the idea of there being "fanboys" and "casuals" is kinda outdated and silly these days due to how easily and quick entertainment news travels around the web. Marketing has never been an easy in the history of human civilisation as it is today.

i just saw T2's share price right now compared to 2014. i'm really considering buying a bucketload. i can imagine they will skyrocket when R* drops an announcement. can we speculate about stocks for a while? lol

Look at the live air pollution maps. They're getting going again.

Just seen a place in America, yes only one place, but was higher than any other in China by a long stretch, do you know what that is?

Yeah I saw that too (Ogden Dunes?). Any one sensor might be an outlier depending on anything from the wind direction to a fault or local traffic or whatever. The point is that when hundreds of the sensors show a trend then you can reliably build assumptions from that.

Ok line between casual and fanboy gamer is possible thinner now then it was before you are right there. It's just I have some examples in my surrounding of people that still like games, sometime buy games but have no idea about who making them or other similar staff. Some of them are even in programming world and have no idea.

Also lot of examples of people who like movies but dont know who directed them.

I've just had a stark moment of clarity. I'm quoting air quality sensors in China in an oblique attempt to contribute towards a discussion about when then next GTA game will come out!

I think it's time I took a little time out 😆

There are exceptions of course, not every single gamer on the planet knows who makes even GTA, but generally speaking the "casual" audience is significantly more knowledgeable than they were 15 years ago. A good example of this would be Call of Duty, a franchise very popular with casual players I think we can all agree. Early days in the Modern Warfare 1 days, casuals didn't know who made what, but as multiple studios were pumping out the games people became more aware of which studio made the good games and which studio made the bad games. For a more recent example, a lot of the insane hype from the more casual audience for Cyberpunk is because people know it's made by the people who made The Witcher 3, which is even more impressive when you realise that CDPR were a relatively unknown studio before TW3, especially on console.

But anyway, most people with even a loose interest in games these days use the internet, meaning if a big game is announced there's a very good chance it'll at some point end up in their feed. Even more so if they pay attention to things like trend lists and "Popular today" types of things. If they have a history of viewing video game related pages on their account then they'll also be targeted by tailored adverts and promotions, which is something that to my knowledge and experience all major AAA publishers utilise.

It would be bloody difficult to miss a GTA VI announcement honestly lol.

Basically everyone want something positive these days. Both casual and fans will "eat" GTA VI announcement like a piece of cake. Like I said, millions of people are sitting at their homes now. Hell, I live in the big city, one of the largest academic centres in my country, it's Friday night and it's basically dead, it doesn't happen even in Winter.

There was a lot of people buying witcher 3 game only after Netflix show. Making witcher 3 top seller that month if I'm not wrong. Do you think that they know who made witcher 3?

It is hard that some would miss gta 6 announcement but will that announcement create hype that is totally different thing.

Slow days

Slow? I think it depends on how old you are. For me weeks pass like days. I don't even know when almost 7 years passed since GTA V release. It's a little bit scary.

The show did sell a lot of copies but it had still sold around 20 million copies before that. I'd say a very good portion know who made it at this point. Cyberpunk 2077 also had some insane hype behind it before the first official trailer released (not the 2013 one). It was one of the most anticipated trailers at E3 that year.

I mean hype and awareness are two very different things yes but they are both very connected things. Some people won't get hyped about a game 1-2 years away, some will, that's not something anyone has the power to change.

We're talking about a studio that sent the entertainment media mad by changing their avatar on social media. Coronavirus is obviously dominating the news right now but people aren't reading about it and only it. I mean, I just had a quick glance at Twitter's worldwide trends and only one of the top 10 was related to Coranvirus and that trend is just people memeing about it lmao.

We literally had 18 of 20 trends today about Corona

Who gives a f*ck about coronavirus, it's just a flu, get over it. Has nothing to do with GTA VI. Will settle down soon and be remembered as a meme and nothing more.

I just stumble upon some gta 5 short video on reddit. Gta 5 still Amazing and after 7 years there is still nothing that can compare to it. Nothing that work, look and feel that good like gta5. (Rdr2 aside)

They really don't have to rush nothing. Lots of things going in favour of gta6 being delayed...

Almost 7 years passed since release of GTA V, they are not rushing anything. It will be at least 2 more before we will get this game.

Crazy really that we're probably gonna go 8-10 years between GTA games, an entire generation will pass by without a new GTA. Same for The Elder Scrolls series too. The next game in that franchise is apparently another 3-4 years away probably and Skyrim came out in 2011 man.
