Announcements may not be outright cancelled but they are now getting moved about. Saying this, I don't think this would have an impact on a potential Rockstar announcement as they announce their titles on their own terms rather than at events.

 

If GTA VI is out this year on current gen consoles, I doubt the announcement will get pushed back. If it's not out this year and not out on current gen consoles it may be held back as who knows what the coronavirus is going to do to the timeline for not only games in active development but also the new consoles. We may very well see games and the new consoles get delayed.

Way too many things are scheduled based on these announcements. If you don't announce your product when you planned then you can already put your whole marketing schedule to the bin.

Like I said, due to whole rest including marketing schedule. Sony is about to release PS5 this year. They will not push announcement due to coronavirus... It's not 1990s anymore, we all have access to the internet.

Logic tells me because of the virus they may postponed the announcement. But hope tells me they will announce it any way.

According to leaks it was January. Then February. Then March. At this point, I don't think anyone knows lol.

 

I don't think we'll get dates for the consoles for a good while either now either due to the uncertainty the coronavirus will bring to things like manufacturing and shipping. I personally would not be surprised if the consoles launch in Q2 2021 now.

I think, that GTA VI announcement is related to PS5 event. It will just be done probably more like a State of Play or livestream straight from PlayStation HQ.
