Unless Grand Theft Auto IV gets a remaster on PC, but I think we will have Grand Theft Auto VIII by then.

I believe Rockstar do love the series. And I do belive they want to do another one. but I belive what they say, they want to do sequels to Red Dead (which they've now done) L.A. Noire, and Bully. The issue is bandwith and timing. GTA will always take precedence, meaning they may have plans to do Bully II, but it it takes too long, and their internal scheduling has GTA VI to be announced at that current time, I could see it being shelved again.

 

My only problem is trying to put together a timeline that would allow for both Bully II to be announced, released, GTA VI to also be announced and released without either getting in the way of each other. They did it with MP3 and GTA V, but things have kinda' changed. I don't see them announing and releasing in the same year. and I don't see an announcement coming this year, it's too late now. I think GTA VI will be announed by the end of 2021 (I'd personally go for October 2021) so Bully II would have to be released before then. At this point it's just looking unlikely, to me. but I really want to be wrong. 

 

They may well have wanted to do Bully II (we know they did) but never been able to put anything solid together. What they had might not have been good enough...

The only thing we can get on 3rd December is an invitation for PlayStation Meeting where they will reveal PlayStation 5 specs and so on. When it comes to Bully 2, Rockstar New England openings strongly suggest, that cross-gen title is still in development.

Damn.. When PlayStation 4 announcement video was released everybody thought a new Grand Theft Auto V trailer was going to be released in the nearby future, because this announcement video had some San Andreas footage in it..

 

We may experience something similar.

Yeah, I agree. It's why I thought Bully II may have been announced last month. next year was the perfect time to release Bully II. As for PS5, I still expect a very similar event to 2013. i heard a rumour about January 22nd. but that could of been fabricated. Still, Jan-Feb is the expected time frame.

There was this one guy from twitter that claimed that he met Dan Houser and asked him what is next and he responded something like GTA VI or Bully 2. He also had a pic with Dan and his father. Sorry for bringing this up again, but did someone debunk this or it is mystery after all, i did not catch reactions?

Yeah, it was discussed here a couple of months ago. The picture (he also has a video on his YouTube channel) was from GTA V's launch in 2013. He was probably telling the truth. Dan actually said RDR2 or Bully II. We now know it was RDR2. It either means they're doing both, planned to do both, but only did one, or only planned to do one. We won't know until their next game is announced.

Strauss has mentioned he believes there will be less content in their future game releases... I don't like the sound of that at all!

RDR2 had over 100 story missions and that was brilliant

Those answers are meant to please shareholders. I wouldn't pay too much attention to them. At least not when trying to speculate on specific game details. But yeah, it could be. RDR is a completely different kind of game, than GTA. However, I do think Rockstar will want to make GTA VI bigger and better than their previous open world game. It's impossible to tell, at this point.

I mean, Grand Theft Auto IV had 88 story missions, not to mention Random Encounters - and Grand Theft Auto V had 69, some of which were.. lousy... like.. Boiler Suits? So, yeah.

Yes. In Grand Theft Auto IV there is a mission in which you have to make a photo of Gracie, when she is kidnapped. So, basically - you take a picture and the mission is over. What's interesting, I don't think game counts it as a mission. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm not - I don't know.

GTA IV had much more lousy missions than GTA V. So at the end, they are pretty much the same. And i love it how every GTA V or GTA VI topic turns out to emphasize that GTA IV is better. Yes, i know, GTA SA was also better than GTA IV in 2008.

I loved that mission though. Felt dark and gritty. Better than going shopping lol.

I agree. It seems to me that the general consensus here is that IV is a better game than V, but I personally don't get it, as I enjoyed V more pretty much in every aspect. But hey, each to their own taste, they are both good games.

Typically, the previous game is always thought to be better than the current one. Even a lot of people preffered RDR1 to RDR2, due to it's slower pace and animations.

Would be really surprised to see any GTA news before Late 2020-2021. As much as I'd love for them to tease it and make it official, I just don't see it. At the same time, someone mentioned how it's been 8 years since GTA V was announced and I honestly couldn't believe it's been that long already.

I will say one thing, GTA V is by far the funniest game I've ever played.

That side mission with Trevor driving Nigel and him complaining about his prostate taking a beating was hilarious!

Slightly off-topic, but f*cking lol how that @XXVIII person has pretty much disappeared since October - which, lo and behold, was when their stupid posts claimed something was coming/being announced. Edit: oh his most recent post was about December 3rd! f*ck me sideways. Are all these 'leakers' just the same person?

 

Get so sick of all this fakery, and feel bad seeing people getting their hopes up.

 

Like, at least make sure your story is iron-clad so we can speculate without debunking immediately haha
