With this year's E3 cancelled, there is the possibility of PS5 being delayed. So, no GTA 6 anytime soon. Am I right?

Oh, I know. I was adding additional examples. However, wasn't it more than just the screenshot? I still have the article saved. It contained a significant amount of gameplay details.

Yeah the lawsuit was mainly down to the two pre-released bullshots the site leaked.

I may be completely wrong, but I think generally a website can say what they want to some degree when it comes to this, i.e how websites say they have EXCLUSIVE information when it's all just guesswork or complete make believe, and even if some or all of it comes true,a broken clock is right twice a day, but when you post unreleased screenshots you are stealing intellectual property from the company, obviously a step too far.

They definitely have months and times that they regularly reveal and show trailers though.

Typically a Tuesday. Both GTA V and RDR2 were announced on Tuesdays. For RDR2 I guess it depends on your interpretation. The teasing began on Sunday, with a follow up on the Monday, then the official announcement on the Tuesday.

Back in the GTA V days, news always came on a Tuesday or a thursday. We even knew the exact time, 2pm GMT. The best example I can remember is the Box Art reveal. Long story short, we were expecting it in January, and every Tuesday & Thursday we hoped for news. January 31st fell on a Thursday, and we got the news. However it was the delay.

A lot has changed in the past 7 years. It's not worth sticking to those 'rules' as absolute. However, I still expect an official announcement for a new game to come on a Tuesday.

MS and Sony can do all the promoting they need digitally so COVID-19 should have no impact on the release date but it may bring troubles to the manufacturing aspect so yea, if the outbreak goes on long enough it may very well delay the release of the consoles. That's some wild speculation right now though.

I think it's rather likely the consoles could be delayed. Can't sell them if you can't build them, right? On the plus side, if this did impact GTA VI in any way... well, they theoretically have longer to work on the game! I'm still gonna' stick to my original predictions, though.

Why would they need to wait for the PS5 to make an announcement? GTA V's original announcement never had platforms listed.

I mean, Ivory Tower made the map of the entire USA in The Crew, what's stopping Rockstar from making the entire USA in GTA VI?

Especially considering the amount of time they have been / will be working on it, in addition to the huge leap in power for next gen.

The problem would be the density of the world. As in things to do, detail, and what not. If they can pull that off with a map that big, that would be most impressive. It would also explain why they only made 1 new game this gen (which imo is ridiculous, but then again, the cash cards and ongoing sales of GTA V gave enough revenue).

It wasn't the "entire" USA. That's like looking at a cake without any filling. Miami to Seattle in game takes about 30 minutes. Try that in real life.

 

You cannot interact with that map on any deep level at all. That is a terrible comparison.

I do believe that GTA 6 will be announced at some point this year but There is no way in hell that it’s being announced this soon, especially with the coronavirus going around and the fact that we still don’t know much about the PS5 yet.

a return of mechanics such as gta san andreas fitness, hair growth, hunger, etc will be introduced. a touch of realism is being added like better physics (vehicle handling, ragdoll stuff). nothing too much, but a small step towards realism without ruining the fun. this includes food shops, gyms, hair dresses, vending machines, etc. the multiplayer will have role play functionality. it wont be based around roleplaying, but will have roleplay modes. it all ties together.

enjoy the announcement. take everything with a grain of salt. this was discussed over a few beers.nothing is finalised apart from the announcement related stuff.
