They scratched the surface already with RDR 2 ;) By the way, it's not like you have to design 2 completely different versions of city. Time progression is true game changer, not some kind of gimmick.

San Andreas had 3 cities, a desert and countryside. There's no excuse on PS3... yet here we are, anyway.

friend, every big R* games, specially GTA, has tons of works in it, that wouldnt be a stopper for them, itll probably be something around 10 years of development when the game releases. i mean, i understand your point but i dont see it like a huge problem. driver parallel lines did it back in ps2 era.... R* can make this with theyr arms tied.

and so people are more advanced and prepared at doing it, they have waaay more advanced dev tech and dev teams, plus we are talking about a next gen game.

Indeed, but keep in mind that VI is in development for quite some time! I'm pretty sure it'll be a flagship on the next generation of consoles. It would be really cool if they could implement then and now like DPL did back in 2006.

It did back with V, but with RDR2 I just lost interest as the time went on. Of course I was excited when it came out, but it just wasn't the same. Life goes on I guess.

Exactly the same for me. Every time there was info about GTAV I was like OHMYGOODDDDD. But with RDR2 I just didn't bother checking here or keeping up. When I saw posts of photos or updates I was just like....."cool, I'll look forward to that when I get it." And that was it.

No announcement will happen tomorrow.  Rockstar Games will release an official final statement on twitter regarding Dan leaving and write some rubbish about being thankful for all his contributions to the company and say some cryptic stuff about his legacy being carried on forward in the company.  Then absolutely nothing will happen for many months regarding GTA except Rockstar promoting different  GTA Online events etc etc.  September will make 2020 a year to remember tho.

they were working on V for a very old tech gen, consoles had about 7~8 years already i guess? i believe they has to cut a lot of content from V, as been discussed before, probably due to old gen limitations. map feels boring af after few gameplays.

yall sounding like its harder than it is (for a huge and powerfull company as t2 and R*, for a next gen game). remember that in the 90s most of players and even companies couldnt imagine a game as ambitious, detailed, immersive as a ps2, ps3, ps4 eras games, and here we are.
