I think working as a dev for Rockstar where they treat their devs as slaves pretty much already puts you in that "quarantine" environment,so all good bud.

Likely very little effect. Unless it spreads REALLY badly, working conditions in Edinburgh won't be too bad. Other studios, such as India or San Diego, for example, might be affected. But even then, I wouldn't expect much difference. Console manufacturing in China, however...

I don't want to spread doom and gloom, but everything seems to suggest that considerable disruption is possible in just about any city. It's not if, it's when and there's nothing about Edinburgh that will make it immune. The containment phase is just slowing down the impact, but it won't prevent it. 

 

Folk can and will work from home of course, but a company as security-paranoid as R* will probably limit the sort of tasks that they allow people to do from their kitchen table on a laptop.

Can confirm reddit's theories that we have secret information on GTA VI and know when it's being announced, after all we are technically Rockstar employees given that we are on their payroll.

 

Personally I can't wait, it's going to be an exciting few weeks and I can't wait to return to Stillwater after all these years.

Oh, I don't disagree. I get what you mean. I just don't think companies will stop working. The world will go on, and companies and people will keep working. In first world countries the impact won't be as bad, but will still be noticed. I just say Rockstar North won't be as bad as it's their main office, where most of the development will be done. Other studios around the world will likely be affected worse. At the end of the day, business goes on as usual unless it gets really really bad. If that makes sense, what I'm trying to say.

Having said all that, I remember GTA V Trailer 2 being delayed due to a hurricane or something, that disrupted the NY office, in October 2012. That's an actual physical impact, though.
