Honest opinion...I feel like Sony is losing this race right now. They’ve got to blow us out of the water in terms of specs and features if they want to compete with the hype train MS has garnered these past few weeks, and they’ve got to do it soon, like yesterday soon.  
 

VI related I feel like Rockstar is waiting for the summer to release info on whatever it is that they’re doing next.. one things for sure, whatever is Next must be shown this year, too much converging advertising to relinquish in a console launch year, Rockstar has to open they’re mouths about what they have planned for Gen 9 regardless of its current state of development.

Sony will announce when they get the chance...as far as knowledge of when...idk cause they could just simply announce it then wait until Microsoft announce pricing on their next console to announce their pricing...as for Rockstar Summer seems likely to announce the next game, but whether they do it or not is beyond me.

Sony have God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted, Spider-Man, Bloodborne, The Last of Us, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima. Microsoft have Gears, Halo and promises. Sony aren't in danger of anything. At the end of the day, PlayStation is more popular. At their worst, with PS3, by the end of the generation it still outsold the Xbox 360. Sony are in the luxury position where they can wait for Microsoft to make the first move and react to them. Sony have the games, and the fans know that. Microsoft are the ones with the point to prove.

Not true. Rockstar waited 3 years after GTA V to announce RDR2. Rockstar will move when they feel ready to. 

with the way things are going and the amount of games each company have been placing out each year...I wouldn't be surprised if Rockstar starts joining in just so they can be competitive...however the more I look at the new images that popped up the more I think they are trying to join a different genre of games entirely

Be competetive? GTA V is continually on the top sales charts every month. Over 6 years after its initial release. And their Online games are making millions every month, and are still breaking record numbers. Rockstar are already more competitive than most developers/publishers out there.

well you are correct...but I am also saying that there is still a genre they haven't hit as much yet (besides a gamemode in GTA Online)...but if they decide to make a whole game on that idk

GTA V and GTAO riding high ain't going to stop them announcing VI. Hell once the campaign starts in full it will probably link GTAO some way bringing back players until VI hits.

It'll be for Online updates only. Not that I believe any of those leaks or rumours are legit. But rather that it's kinda' obvious and going to happen. basically a bidding war between Sony & Microsoft over games marketing rights and timed exclusivity for online content updates. Sony has had most of them, this gen.

Seriously not this crap again, I thought we'd left these stupid practises behind like online passes but I see "timed exclusive content" bullsh*t is still alive and well. I think this upcoming generation should be a bit of a fresh start, leave behind some of the failed practises and concepts that didn't work out well and perhaps start being a little bit more consumer friendly. There is no way in hell a AAA game should be should be doing timed exclusive content unless it's just something basic like cosmetics / clothing. If it's going to give a bunch of features & interactive content to another platform for a few weeks and make others sit and wait, I want nothing to do with it. Either release it all at once or forget about it. This crap is a blow to those who have just spent $60+ or more on a game and half the sh*t that should already be there is missing because their playing on the platform that is going to be without the content the other platform has for a few weeks.

 

Money does talk and no one could say no to more money so hence why this stupid practises are alive and well.

I completely agree. But at the end of the day you said it yourself. Money talks. Timed online content isn't going away anytime soon

I agree I’m not a fan of the timed exclusive stuff. It’s very unfair on people who have paid full price for the game and are missing out on stuff cos they prefer one console over another.

GTA IV's DLCs are still exclusives for Xbox, so it will only be fair if GTA VI's Online and DLCs are exclusive for PlayStation.

Well if the PS5 is less powerful than Xbox Next mainly because they want to push a PS5 pro sooner then a timed exclusive is plausible.

haha dont buy that domino set. its so cheaply made. the dominos dont have the gloss finish and they have scratches, the pad is not even soft its like a pressed foam which sucks, and the box doesn't even feel like wood which of course it is but also combined with something else. Trust me it sucks, I bought a set. I dont know about the blanket, but yeah, made in china. The calendar is probably cheap paper knowing R*. 

 

Anyways, I wont be surprised if R* does another timed exclusive content pack again. Now for the different additions I dont mind, I always go all out on R* titles, but for exclusive consoles. Both PS and xbox can f*ck off if they do that.

From a history stand point I agree with you , but from a logistic Perspective I’m gonna have to say no.  Rockstar would be hard pressed to stay tight lipped through 2020 on their next title between 2020 and 2021, they and the investors know fans and the industry are waiting with baited breathe for Rockstars next title and more so now than ever especially with Gen 9 arriving. Not doing anything to drive in popular demand in tandem with the hype trains Sony and MS are conducting this year would be infuriating to shareholders. GTA 6 was trending #3 this past weekend and no one has said a goddamned thing about it...let that sink in. There’s a time to buy and time to sell, it’s well passed time for Rockstar to sell,  its hype is at a fever pitch right now, and though it is a beautiful game I’m pretty sure we can all agree RDR2 is not going to carry Rockstar as far as GTA V did.

I’m pro PlayStation bud... I know the PS and Sony have been dominating the market since 2009 (Around the launch of Trpohies and Uncharted 2) I’m just saying Rockstar needs to take advantage of this year.

What? No they're not! They're on PS3 & PC. And they have been for 10 years. (April 2010)
