Yeah but he was also pretty confident that it won't be VC

That document is really old though (it's from even before GTA V released IIRC), everything could have changed since then. That said there is indeed no convincing evidence the game is gonna be set in VC, it's a possibility but I don't see why so many people are so sure about it.

Things also change. In 2012, when some sort of pre production began, they may have been tossing around ideas. Then in 2014 or so Online really takes off, and they decide or realize; They need the next GTA to have a really big and diverse map to help support GTA Online in ways that they didn't originally envisaged during production of GTA V & GTA Online. To add on to this, Bully II was in development... until it wasn't, as it was cancelled. Agent was in development, until it wasn't, and it has seemingly been abandoned. The point being, Rockstar may have had an idea many years ago, but changed direction afterwards.

One of the reassons i said VC is most likely is the interior miami letter from a agent who helpt in Miami Vice and Bad Boys. And worked now for R*

But i do hope we see Carcer City in any shape or form in GTA6 (Chicago, Detroit or Philly)

There's one key piece of evidence. The document from Rockstar scouting in Miami. I then discovered by searching the names and contact details on the document, a lady who was on a podcast. She mentioned helping a digital media company set up site tours in Florida. Although, at the time of discovery, I believed it was possible that since the podcast was from January, they had around 10 months to have discovered it themselves and forge the document.

Ah right, I forgot about that, it's not definitive evidence but it's interesting for sure

i know, but it kind of proves that R* don't follow a strict roadmap and plant hints and clues about their next games because they themselves aren't sure where it's gonna be set. whether it's gonna be VC or something else remains to be seen

I agree. Keywords are big and diverse, but you won't find a better place to have both at full potential than the American Southwest, namely California, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. Norcal-Nevada it's, then? ;)

And maybe that's why rockstar wanted to add the Caribbean and south america (if the the rumors are true) for florida being so flat.

And we had guy, who had access to another document and who sent one of them to Ash. He was clear, that Rockstar started Vice City project early 2014.

The Caribbean and South America (say, Cuba and Colombia) can make a diverse map. However, I argued pages back that South American languages can be a barrier to such a project, so now you have radio, road signs, billboards, story characters, pedestrian chatter voiced in a language that's not spoken or understood globally compared to English. There's the other challenge of making it all authentic, especially the pedestrian chatter. The tradition with R*, when they dealt with a South American setting before like in Red Dead, was that they recorded the story characters in English, which is not really authentic, but it was done so for accessibility. They'd have to hire voice actors from South America to record pedestrians so it'll feel authentic and not half-assed. Dan Houser, in various occasions, objected to Grand Theft Auto leaving the US borders.

Wait, I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to. Have you got any links? I must have missed it.

BTW I'm not claiming that GTA 6 isn't gonna be set in VC. I just share similar opinion as @Jabalous meaning I think that there are more interesting and diverse places in the US than Florida and I'm not 100% convinced that Project Americas is what R* went with

All the "evidence" and rumors points to VC. It´s time for VC to appear physically into the HD Universe.

Connecting all the dots and hints from Rockstar, it seems like the Game will be really huge or gigantic.

Possible places: Florida, Columbia, Puerto Rico and Jamaika. Would be a dream of a game.:)

Vice City + Colombia would be very diverse no doubt about that. We could even have snow in GTA VI.

The link is Bullsh*t in my opinion. It´s just distraction. Next Game is GTA 6 and possibly PS5 exclusive for one month.

The original Project Americas "leak" from The Know has some weight in it too.

A month ago, there was a script in RDR2 PC files called "Misc (Project) Americas" or something. Not sure the word "project) was in.

Vice City is most likely as one of the citie(s)

I think Project Americas is real.

The story spanning different decades is likely real.

Vice City being the or a location.

I think those are about the only believable things so far.

if anything.., the only thing it has going for it..,

is that it convinced a bunch of people here..,

cause origin..,

which leads to places to use that to get others to think that..,

off-topic..,

this place keeps mildly erupting over time..,

and I find it funny how some lines get ripped and repurposed from other users..,

just keep in mind people will always have a tendency to side with what seems logical and hopes for them..,

[only some really can separate from what they want.., and they tend not fight about it.., or decide not to keep pushing]

so keep in mind.., if one side seems more logical to most..,

try not to make it a bigger issue..,

even if you seem logical..,

this isn't a shutdown match..,

either way..,

hope some thing comes our way that isn't just a possibility..,

[I personally don't trust the know.., cause they are not in the know.., and have made foolish remarks about things they know nothing about in the past.., but that's just me..,]

hope to see some more in-depth topic later on..,

I'm surprised no one has added modded cars in RDR2 PC yet. it would give us a good indication on how far the RAGE has come and visualize a little bit of what to expect from GTA VI. I also know RDR1 had car mods and that was much easier because the Model T already existed in RDR1, but surely someone out there knows what to do in regards to RDR2.

Maybe Rockstar will add it themselves one day.

The Project Americas alleged leak from The Know said nothing about anywhere else in America except Vice City. It’s amazing how fake leaks are convincing people the game will have all these locations in America plus South America, people are literally combining fake leaks (the og Project Americas might be legit but tons of fake leaks used it as a springboard) and getting convinced GTA 6 will be super massive. Interesting seeing it go from South America to American locations with the fake leaks.

Judging by Red Dead Redemption 2, assuming Rockstar sticks with the design philosophy, GTA 6 will probably be 1.5-3 times larger than GTA 5 in technical map size, but be more detailed than GTA 5, as RDR2 was. If Rockstar wants and noting current hardware as opposed to GTA 5 being a last-gen game, they could probably make a HUGE map that like how GTA 4 and 5 are less condensed then the PS2 games, continue being less condensed and contain a city that actually has neighborhoods and outskirts and a huge countryside. I’d welcome either but GTA 6 will surely have the largest map yet, hopefully it’ll be nicely detailed and well-designed like RDR2 was. I think GTA 5’s map was underrated but I do agree the highway didn’t make much sense when there was just Los Santos and a countryside, in many ways it only made the map seem small and caused people to avoid exploring large and beautiful parts of it

Oh man, people in here want mountains so much... I hope Grand Theft Auto VI will feature mountains every single corner so you would say: "Oh no, why so many mountains!"

Then you have to actually eat the mountains.

I really just was some diverse and elevated terrain. For me Vice City and Las Venturas were the most boring maps just cause they were so two dimensional. I'd like some new, fun mountains to drive through/over but I'll settle for some decent sized hills.

If VI is inspired by Narcos, then it means they started first pre-production of VI in 2016, just after 1 season of Narcos. It means we have to wait at least 3-4 years for release.

I really think VI will be out somewhere between 2023 and 2025. I'm sure they will release at least one game before GTA.

Houser brothers have said in interviews that they never watch tv shows or any series and have allways been only in to movies since kids.

So probably not inspired bu narcos show.

That's pretty much how they make a Just Cause map.

If you have open map game setting in multiple decades, it means that they need to redo at least half of the map details for each decade and also different cars etc.

I mean it would be weird if it was in 80s and 2010, but everything would still look like from 80s in 2010s.

Thats a lots of work.

Yes, that's a lot of work and at the same time, something so insane, that only Rockstar would want and could pull off.
