GTA 6 Speculation & Discussion

I've just watched some Narcos footage, started to compare it to GTA VI rumors we have (multiple era and so on) and if it's really something like Narcos TV series (sounds like that) then it will be the best game ever created. It's just perfect for GTA story. For those who don't know, Narcos starts in late 70s and ends in modern day. If Rockstar will really pull it off then I'll be probably playing this game for years. It would require insane amount of work but it would be so worth it. Kids would get their Online mode in modern day and it wouldn't hurt great story  I got a little bit excited to be honest, maybe a little bit too much. Vice City was heavily inspired by Miami Vice and it was very successful  and became most beloved GTA game for many people so why not make GTA VI inspired by Narcos.

If VI is inspired by Narcos, then it means they started first pre-production of VI in 2016, just after 1 season of Narcos. It means we have to wait at least 3-4 years for release. 

I really think VI will be out somewhere between 2023 and 2025. I'm sure they will release at least one game before GTA.

I think, you missed the point, that Narcos is based on true story, it's not fiction. Think about Miami, 80s, drugs. Colombia is obvious part of this. Rockstar was always saying, that map comes first, story comes next. And as far as we know from Ash, production took off between 2015 and 2016.

Honestly, I think the most probable scenario is GTA VI being Vice City (+something else maybe) in 2020's. If I had to guess when it's going to come out... 2021/2022. Consoles first obviously, PC a year later. Most likely. But hey, what do we know right? For me this is just the most probable scenario that fits the pattern R* is in currently. I personally would kill for GTA game set in the 90's. That's me though.

I didn't say, that only kids want modern day. Just look at RDR 2. You won't find there so many kids playing this game. They prefer Overwatch, Apex, Fortnite, Pubg. Most of them would be even unable to appreciate good story. In my opinion, that you don't have to agree with, if you're true GTA fan then story should have absolute priority, no matter era. This franchise is so good due to story. You have great story to tell in modern day? Ok, set the game in modern day. You have great story to tell in the past? Ok, set the game in past.

I wouldn't count on it, it would overshadow whole Sony conference. PS5 is so big, that it needs its own event.

Although it's not a Playstation event I think they might give us some insight/hints into the new console but nothing too specific. We'll have to wait a little longer for that.

At best you might bet some really boring information on some technical details, like how they manufactured 3% faster silicone or something pretty boring. You ain't getting PS5 details at CES of all places.

There are many easter eggs which reference other games in each of their games. You just picked the one which references San Andreas.

I mean, it's not like we had 1 (actually 2)  GTA games set in Vice City during the 1980s, where drug trading (including coke)  was one of the main themes of both games, so it can't be an easter egg referencing the past, right?

I try to be smart and level headed. Las Venturas, Los Santos and Vice City were all referenced in GTA IV. So why single Los Santos out as evidence that they teased it in GTA IV? Guess what, in real life, you'll see advertisements, signs, posters depicting Hollywood. It's one of the most iconic US landmarks. I don't claim to know what's coming next. Nobody does. it's okay to admit you don't know something. But to take minor things and treat them as fact or proof is beyond silly.

Nobody treat them as facts, this is simple impossible. It is possible that Rockstar do this kind of things, why not? Just let the people think and believe whatever they want, unless there is a confirmation from Rockstar. I know what you mean, don´t get me wrong. Even if GTA 6 will take place in Vice City officially, IT DOES NOT PROOF, that this people where right, it can still be a coincidence or a alternative explanation, that´s not the point. Try to be a part of the community who want to believe and to dream until the announcement. Thats all what i want to say.:) Don´t try to destroy their "illusion", even if you knew more than they do, even if you were one of the Housers.lol It´s not like they are claiming the earth is flat or some other BS.

I do hope Rockstar announces another game soon, especially since these fans are getting out of hand. Voice actors spazzing on Twitter, Employees being harrassed, News sites monetizing fake leaks.

 

Dont think Narcos has anymore influence on GTA VI than Cocaine Cowboys. But as I'm playing RDR 2 on PC and play around with the settings I'm sure it will come to nextgen. 

 

Also I'm also seeing how well they captured each essential region and city well. Especially the East. I'm thinking GTA VI will either feature mutiple cities or times periods.

 

RDR 2 mentions South America, Cuba and a few other places quite often. Its foreshadowing RDR 2 and not necessarily GTA VI but one can hope.

 

I for one think we will get Venturas and Vice connected or Vice and Liberty connected just based on my theory.

You know, we could have one protagonist in 1980's (or 1970's, whatever) and one in 2020's and change through them just like in Grand Theft Auto V, but with a short loading screen.

 

Or even better... chapters.

Chapter 3. 2010's (or 2020's).
