Will R* ever fix the camp?

This issue is going on for a while now and it's killing everyone's fun. It's not just for the Trader role, I just like having a camp to rest once in a while, cook things and so on.

 

So I'm basically sking this because I really don't know if R* is actually doing something to fix this, lots of people are reporting this but still no signs of improvements.

As far as I know, they think they fixed things in patch 1.13, but they didn't. 
I sure hope they fix it soon, because my current gameplay does rely on my camp a lot. While collecting stuff, I have Cripps to do his job and produce full wagons. 

Doing supply runs means you will lose you camp 99% of the time you get back in a lobby. To avoid that risk, I buy supplies. Spending money to avoid a bug... 

 

Camps not spawning or quick despawning or despawning in general is game breaking bad. It kills the fun, sometimes renders labor useless and wastes time while making money.  
 

As always, no one knows if they are working on a fix. They never let us know,

From a support employee:

 

"We don't have official Rockstar information on any repairs yet, but they are aware of all these issues."

 

Issues were; 

 

1. Camp spawn

2. Huntingwagon delivery doesnt count towards daily objectives.

3. Horse picking herbs doesnt count towards daily objective.

it could be that the problem is a trickier one to fix than they thought it would be. they've obviously tried, but the success was short lived. maybe it's got something to do with the way the game loads/merges players into the map. two camps can't occupy the same space at the same time, and if one is trying to pitch a camp where there already is one, or where the system is flagging a camp as being there when it's actually not, so it's not accepting the request to pitch camp, but is getting stuck in a loop until it gives up and the "crips has f*cked off with your camp" message pops up. .

what's to say that to fully fix it, they won't have to restructure the way the game deals with allocating players spaces when they try to join online, or the way they merge instances?

Rockstar works with release cycles. My guess is that the next dlc will be out begin November. Until that time we will have to live with the crappy camp spawns.

Not really. We dont have to log on. I have been playing for about a month only and am already burned out completely on trying to keep a camp setup. It affects everything you do. Im logging on less and when I do log on I might not actually play as the " You have been disconnected" or " Cripps has decided you dont need a camp today" messages make me log right off and go play something else more reliable as far as the game play experience.

4 days now no camp and there are loads of animals spawning in lobbies with 24 players Cant be arsed spending 2 hours switching lobbies to get a camp and lose it 5 mins later so for me Trader has come to a full stop now "

I'm on the verge of just going back to how I hunted before the update.  It's become too damn frustrating to get a camp to spawn to keep bothering with it.

I've tried every "fix" and work-around there is but they are about as reliable as signing in and signing out continuously until your camp finally spawns.

 

Anyways, I finally maxed out the Trader role and now I'm done with it lol I don't know about anyone else but it truly feels like the old hunting method makes you more money.

Spawned into like 8 different sessions today, each session had my camp pitch from the gitgo without me needing to even set it up. The only time I didn't actually need my camp! Lol

 

 

And they were busy sessions too.

Last night I somehow ended up in a session with just myself and a posse member.  Camp worked awesome, animals freaking everywhere, etc.  I know this is a rarity, but it was nice to not have to cast a spell or do a ritual dance to get the camp to spawn.

Camp has, for some reason, been working for me over the last 24 hours or so, even in populated, 20+ player lobbies.

 

It's there when I load in, it moves on request and when Cripps packs it up I can pitch it again without issue.

 

Nothing has changed on my end, same two consoles on the same two connections. It could be luck and/or temporary, time will tell I guess.

 

Animal spawns are still f*cked. If there are more than 15/16 players in the lobby I'm lucky to see a solitary raven fly overhead.

No, its never going to be fixed.  Its like the crew emblem bug from GTAO.   Its sort of like the yacht from GTAO which had its own spawn problems and was never fixed. If the camp operated like a yacht, it would be better, but then it would not be an open air camp.  Cripps should have a big tent that you enter to see him.  Ideally, The camp should only be Cripps tent or wagon when you are far and when you are in you should have to enter a menu to load the rest. They wanted the camp to be a money sink, and it was when it had no use, but now its just an example that the game is a buggy mess.

The trader role is the one I play the most, or at least I would if I could get the camp to pitch when and where I want. That together with the animal spawn problems, make the trader life a stressful life, when it should be the exact opposite. 

 

Right now I'd gladly see R* take the game offline for as long as it takes them to fix it, although that would obviously never happen. 

 

I've resorted to just hunting when the camp and animals spawn. It's not like there isn't anything else to do.

I think he means when camp set up fails just keep trying .....I myself usually get camp set up within 4 tries the past few days

I'll be surprised if they don't have a fix out with the next update/patch, which I'm assuming will drop with or around the PC version. But in the end who knows.

There is a fix...start a bounty if you are given a solo lobby, pitch the camp and it should spawn every time.

Also, try to get to the camp asap when the mission ends, before it merges you back into a populated session. I've found that the camp tends to stick around better if you actually visit it, your mileage may vary though.

This issue is seriously frustrating combined with the animal spawn bug. The way I've worked it out now is if I catch animals spawning I'll just stop and at least fill up my wagon and not worry about the camp. When my camp finally spawns on it's own, I'll just freaking fast travel there to unload my wagon and do a re-supply. However, Collector has become my main money making role cuz it's really just so much easier to roam around the map and scoop stuff up. Trader is hardly worth the effort at this point, especially since you can't even have your Horse and the wagon out at the same time, which is another serious frustration I have with this whole system. The horse will follow you in any other random crappy wagon but not for your own wagon that cost hundreds of dollars. And you lose access to your saddle with the wagon, lol. Awesome. Especially the times I forget to equip my rifle and call the wagon.

They should edit the notification too. It now says:

 

"Cripps has packed up your camp. Use the Player Menu to set it up again".

 

should be more like:

 

"Cripps has packed up your camp AGAIN! Use the Player Menu to set it up".

Had it last night.  Only thing that really helps me is switching sessions and/or complete console power down
