How long till RDR Online is GTAO Ridiculous?

I forgot to mention something. A year or two from now, the inevitable wacky update will use science as a theme and introduce mutations.

Think of the current three roles, but with supernatural creatures. Like, Marko Dragic will have you come to his lab and choose whatever mutation you want, only for you to end up as a werewolf, werecougar, or werebear, and you rank through each mutation level through the completion of challenges and consumption of your prey.

I know some of you will think this is the tightest sh*t and want to see it happen, but really, it will not be anywhere as good as you expected it to be.

I don't think a non-canon perhaps Halloween themed limited time event would be a bad thing. They've talked about in interviews, they made some spooky sh*t in SP, they may revisit it in future.

Something like that will never be a thing in the main RDO game though, that I'm 100% sure of. We'll get AC-130 hot air balloons and weaponised cars long before that would ever happen.

Lmao are you guys for real now ?

It will never get that bad. R* gonna do the same old stuff a bit wacky here and there obviously but not crazy levels of sh*te. Even me being pesimistic when I see all the goofiness in videogames these days can't fathom it.

The path to a flying unicorn is paved with horse masks and new ability cards.

The bugs...The camp spawn bug is the new crew emblem bug.  The spawning system has always been hit or miss which is why we needed permanent properties, but then how will they milk us?  RDO is already GTAO with horses.  We have our fetch business tied to buggy camp and buggy animal spawns.  They have solved a lot of the issues such as controlling griefing and such.  The world is so much more alive than GTAO.

There will never be a flying vehicle or horse in this game because the map isn‘t an island with all sea around it.

Either you could fly out of bounds or would crash against a invisible barrier in the air. Both things I don‘t see happening.

i think it won‘t get funkier as flashy clothes and some alien easter eggs.

I hope cars stay in RDR1 and never make their way to online. I don't want to be fishing on a river bank and be suddenly plowed by a player driving a car.

But if I'm remembering correctly, wasn't there something found in the companion app about a wagon with a mounted maxim gun? If/when that gets added I think it will just be downhill from there I'm afraid

Personally I would not mind cars. They would be sh*t on anything but roads and outclassed by Horses in everything but passenger capacity.

Was it confirmed that the wagon with the turret was in any way shape or form meant to be ownable by players though?

I believe they had a price next to them indicating they were supposed to be purchasable.

They never did it with GTAO.

You say this like Rockstar are constantly tweaking or having to "maintain" rumble in the game right now. Of all the reasons I've heard over the years of people being wary of PC versions of games, rumble being singled out might be the most bizarre I've heard honestly. And like I said, PC supports rumble and given that GTA is a popular game to play on PC with a controller due the driving, I expect RDR2 PC will have great controller support on PC just like GTA V... and because controller support in games is an absolute bog standard thing in any PC game in 2019 except certain games and genres that are simply incompatible with controllers.

No, it's from people who are playing the game on console and want things fixed/improved/changed. Literally none of the changes you've mentioned have anything to do with the PC version.

As far as I can tell the only change that may have possibly been done because of PC was the change to Slippery Bastard as PC will be free aim due to the nature of the controls. But it's equally possible that they just didn't want a card designed around the aiming preferences of a player.

No, it's from people who are playing the game on console/ sure because there was no PC version, and My point is (IN The Future) I believe there will be a PC attitude creep( no Pun intended) into the console version

You say this like Rockstar are constantly tweaking or having to "maintain" rumble in the game right now. you are reading way to much into this and entering a defensive attitude area(?)

my only point about rumble is that its nice. If PC users can use Controlers ( cough*) well good on them

Lets not get into . "Oh boy get the popcorn out."

you are after all are way more experienced in this than me.

As I say, time will tell, and for now, I appreciate your views(though I reserve time as a judge)😀

I don't understand what you mean by this cause that wasn't what he was saying at all? You're being super speculative. Not trying to argue or anything I'm just a bit confused on your points. Console is by far their largest market for these games, they aren't tweaking this version based on PC players, if anything it would likely be the other way around.

okay, Sorry I don't feel sensitive. lol

My original point is in response to  when will RDR2 become ridiculous.

I was ONLY referring to what( I believe)..

RS will be adding more to this game, and I wonder. how much this PC version will likely trickle down to consoles and affect gameplay as it is.

topic of thread when will RDR become ridiculous( I just added my opinion  of  Possible PC based influences.

confusion is easy on the internet. It is Hard to always convey feelings and Ideas( which I am open to, and hope to be a contributing member of this community).

With respect to all. I didn't aim to appear sensitive or argumentative, just expressing(Poorly) my views.

Best to all, and a big shoutout to Jason

Something no one has mentioned, (and I am afraid of R* is imnplementing) is "crossplay between PC and consoles."

I don't think R* is setting up a separate server system purely for the PC fanbase...

Probably this would affect the XBox playerbase the most.

And we all know what a dream it is to play with hackers in GTAO on a PC...Traffic cones and Xmas trees and broomsticks everywhere...

Right lets look at it logically.

R*/T2 more than likely has at least a five-year plan for this games Online. Apart from Properties/Homes and Heists what logically can they add that would keep players playing? What incentive? What goal to strive towards? What toys? Do you honestly want another five years of Horse skins, retextured clothes and weapons?

Role wise, photography like they've already mentioned, fishing (new mechanics/equipment), miner, gambler, thief, outlaw, marshall, rancher, moonshiner. Those are just off the top of my head. Some of these could be new roles, some could be expansions to current roles.

Mission wise, heists like they've already talked about but also other styles of big set piece missions like prison break outs, taking down a huge gang and smaller stuff like survivals or just random co-op missions in X with X task which have always been a welcome addition to GTAO, there's really no limit of these types of missions they can pump out. More story missions too, which has sorta been forgotten about a little with the Roles by players I think.

There's really plenty they could do in a five year span that would be fit the theme and tone of the game, there's loads of stuff that I or others won't think of but Rockstar have people whose job is to think about this stuff, not being able to rattle of a gigantic/endless list of things Rockstar could add to the game isn't proof that the the game is limited in terms of content they could add to the game.

The questions are of course are do they want to do this, do they think it'll be popular, do they think it'll bring players back and the dreaded, do they think this will generate microtransaction sales. We can't answer those but if it in two or three years RDO jumps the shark it isn't because they were limited by the time period.

There's no way they lump PC and console players together, also they're not setting up server systems as the game uses peer to peer connections as far as I know.

Crossplay between PC and consoles for this game will not happen.

Highwayman/Bandit/Outlaw would be a fun one. Conveniently the ability to rob people has been removed from Online for the time being...as well as the ability to locate and steal/rob Stagecoaches.

Holding up people on the road, attacking and looting valuable Stagecoaches with an actual mechanic to stop them and have everyone get out and line-up, stealing Cornwall oil tankers and selling them, I wouldn't even mind the ability to rob homes, just go upto doors we cannot enter and you get an option  to Rob it, you get a little animation of your character opening the door but the camera stays outside and you hear banging or possible screaming and you get random events like "The homeowner pulls a shotgun on you. Press RT to shoot him or mash B to wrestle the weapon from him". You then exit the Hose with "loot bags" and have to flee the town. Depending on where you rob and what time you get different scenarios, difficulty and payouts, rob a Mansion on Saint Denis and you get a good payout but more chance of you getting the law on you or killed by guards. More Posse members and higher skill lowers the chance.

Would love to see a fly rod added to the game, where the grip actually becomes a function and you have to get better to have more range, and you can level up for flies, lines, storage, and, of course, dress-up video game barbie.

I'm close to level 1000 between two characters on GTAO, having played since day 1, and since the RDO update, went from a level 10 to about a 140 or so.  Speaking to the topic, honestly, the games are nowhere near similar, aside from the micro-transactions and the controller mechanics, the former being a product of the times and the latter virtually a signature of R* games, with some variations.  The player base seems different as well, anecdotally.  During the past month or so, I have been attacked by another player in freeroam only a handful of times, and I ran long distance sales on the reg. As has been stated in this thread by others, I have friends who solely play GTAO and I have never seen them on Red Dead, even in story mode.

I do hope that they sort out the extinction and camp issues, but I feel like the camp issues are close to being ironed out, given the last week or so of play.

I don't know what's next, but I think cooperative missions would motivate some, especially with big payouts.  Honestly, this game was so easy to level up and get money in compared to GTAO at the beginning, it was a little underwhelming as far as the challenge aspect goes.

Oh, yeah, they're never getting Oppressor MKII ridiculous.

It's been a bit silly from the start so it's only going to get worse. As it's been said by others, the clothing is really silly at times and the exploding ammo is an absolute joke. As if it wasn't easy enough already with auto aim, people are able to kill you with absolutely no skill at all.

If I remember right the source for that information was Rockstar Intel, who are bullsh*t and clickbait merchants, so I dunno what good that info is exactly.

Though that being said, wouldn't shock me if they did add those wagons of course. On the plus side, you'd need two people at all times to operate on them so it wouldn't be a case of 20+ wagons all firing guns in the lobby and travel times + the fact I just rarely see people anyway means it wouldn't have any where near the impact on a lobby any of the weaponised vehicles in GTAO do. I think if/when they add those wagons it's gonna be a case of people freaking the f*ck out on patch day, a load of wagon vs wagon action in St Denis for a week and then it'll go back to normal.

So as for wagons I'm w/e, they won't do that much damage to the game if any. Cars on the other hand, no thank you.

You can only shoot behind you and a couple of degrees to the left and right with those carts. They can't use that gun while chasing you. Not even when you are to their side. Don't think those carts are gonna be a big problem.

I can't wait for the time-traveling DeLorean. Of course, in its basic state it will be out of fuel and you can only push it along tracks by way of locomotive. But scrounge up enough parts, invest in the laboratory up in Roanoke, and you'll restore its flying circuits in no time!

Hot Air Balloons as owned vehicles, with the ability to harness them with crates of dynamite which can be released on unsuspecting players below? For protection a 180 degree arc Gatling gun mounted on the basket, and wood planks that can be purchased to add a layer of "armor" to the basket. Not enough protection, research level II and make them sheets of metal?

Also, speaking of metal armor, sooner or later they will add in steel chest plates that you can wear under your poncho to shield against bullets, Clint Eastwood in "A Fistfull of Dollars" style, with an emote to go with it: "Aim for the heart."

The point is they could add a lot of "ridiculous" without even looking outside the technology of the time period.

I think I just filled someone's short-list at Rockstar for micro-transactions.

They are forcing players into playing free aim this week in showdowns, so maybe it's the time R* realise the new speed is not free aim compatible... Or not compatible at all.
