Ardabas34 0
I have an original copy of GTA 3. It is non steam, I bought it years ago. The problem is that Windows 10 does not launch games like GTA 3 because appearently from my research, these old games used to have a security program there are old games on CD-Rom that have DRM. This DRM stuff is also deeply embedded in your system, and that's where Windows 10 says 'sorry, we cannot allow that, because that would be a possible loophole for computer viruses.' That's why there are a couple of games from 2003-2008 with Securom, etc. that simply don't run without a no-CD patch or some such. We can just not support that if it's a possible danger for our users. There are a couple of patches from developers already, and there is stuff like GOG where you'll find versions of those games that work." I found this that says it is now legal for games with dead DRM's to be launched with no/cd cracks, is this true ? https://www.kitguru.net/channel/generaltech/matthew-wilson/single-player-games-with-dead-drm-servers-ruled-dmca-exempt/ If it is not what else can I do to play the game I paid for ? stef_92 936
This is really common issue if you use high DPI settings. You just need to fix this from the exe compatibility settings (you can axxess them by right click -> properties -> compatibility Edited October 11, 2019 by stef_92
Ardabas34 0
Thank you for the try but unfortunately I have tried this solution before. I had been checking the whole internet before opening this topic. Also, why would it be related to that anyway ? Like I said the root of the problem is Windows 10 not allowing. That's why there are a couple of games from 2003-2008 with Securom, etc. that simply don't run without a no-CD patch or some such.

If you use Silent patch and copy all audio files to the audio folder on your hard drive this won't be a problem
Ardabas34 0
Hmm thank you, what is ''Silent patch''s difference than a no-cd crack ?

The difference is that you don't know if the crack is reliable so with silent patch you should be able to use the original exe. + Silent patch provides many bug fixes that you won't get with the crack anyway
