I’m checking it almost every day but seems like it will be like that until a trailer get released with the classification or when the game comes out.

Or maybe they’re so mad at Rockstar for trying hard that they won’t do anything...

I actually checked the day it was announced. Nothing in the database that I could find yet, but here's hoping something is found out by December. Would come so full circle if it was Bonaire again... but they probably know we're onto them!

A LOT, Ray Tracing is only for the high end Nvidia cards right now (RTX series), you can run it on older cards but the performance drops into single digits. However it would be nice if the game supported it for those that do have high end and for those who plan to upgrade over the years as things like proper Global Illumination, ray traced reflections/refractions, etc, would really enhance the world and make the game pop even more.

Ray tracing is still in its infancy and needs some more time before it can be applied to everything without being a burden. Also, while being more realistic, in some instances it is less cinematic and artificial light is needed in order to highlight scenes which would otherwise be in the dark.

If there's one thing I learnt from this its 4chan leaks can be legit. This is the first time I've ever seen a 4chan leak be real.

It's basically a coin toss each time. Though I've seen more fake ones than real, personally. So it's more like... several coins being tossed.

They might. From my experience with Ray Tracing it will probably absolutely annihilate your FPS haha.

I wouldn't be surprised if this 4chan leak was a controlled leak, but who knows. Perhaps Rockstar guys truly enjoyed reading the speculation thread.

I've got a raytracing graphics card and tested it with both control and shadow of the tomb raider on ultra. It didn't effect my performance really, but apart from some extra shiny surfaces, I actually didnt notice a huge difference.

 

Am I blind or is those games just not good for showcasing what raytracing is?

CONTROL is one of the best examples of it right now, if you can't tell the difference you might not be activating the right things, take a look at this video to see how the game looks through various options:

As I remember shadow of the tomb raider only uses "raytraced" shadows, not the actual refelctions so you're right, it doesn't do much in terms of graphics, but in control wow, that's weird that you didn't notice any difference

Remember the game was 100gbs on console...so start to clear up space in your Hard drive if you need to.  and be ready for a long download, (i suspect it should be bigger on pc because of the online updates etc.)

What model rtx do you have. I think it's definitely noticeable but I do have a rtx 2080 Ti in my main rig and a 2060 in my laptop. I might check it out on my laptop to see how it looks on there

Also, RDR2 PC will likely have higher resolution video (pre-rendered chapter transitions, etc), so that will probably make the size grow too. They're already 4K on console, but they will probably have to be 4K60 on PC or it would be jarring if you went into an FMV that is 30 FPS while the game is at 60. I wonder if there will be an Ultra textures "DLC" or something.

 

And Shadow of the Tomb Raider only uses raytracing in shadows. Control has toggles for every single thing and it is incredible and very noticeable even in my software-accelerated GTX 1060 (yes even at 10 FPS)... So something's not right there sir lol.

I'm gonna install it straight to my ssd instead of messing around with hdd. Knowing rockstar the load times will be horrendous.

Not their fault, try to load like a hundred GB of assets efficiently. I've heard it loads faster than GTA V though.
