At the moment that's ok to read since it's speculations, but once the game is out, tracking who has what and how it runs, duh, that's going to be tough following it.

Who said a rumor about Denuvo in RDR2? PC release will use Rockstar's DRM + Arxan (+ Steam for its release).

Personally don't see why not, it is possible with GTAV and still, you have access to the game files sooo, the only place where you won't be able to use mods will be Stadia.

I don't see why it wouldn't. Plus, it's very likely that no version of the game won't use the launcher. I imagine they'll do what they are currently doing with GTA V, making you install the launcher to launch the game regardless of where you own it from.

 

Modding is still possible on GTA V btw

I'm curious to see how much mods will affect the FPS. In GTA V vanilla, I can get up to 90 FPS on 1080p Ultra settings FXAA On, the other AA's off. High Detail Streaming While Flying set to On, rest off in Advanced Graphics. With mods and scripts, this can go all the way down to 35-60 FPS depending on area. So if RDR2 is much better optimized, we could get better results than GTA V and Witcher 3 with mods. But overall, I try to keep my expectations down with the FPS for now.

I miss the speculation thread, I could not participate to the hype before and when the announcement was made as it was already locked when I got back home. I've waited months for this and it happened when I was not here...

Last time I came here was... woh, a long time ago ! Waiting for V to get announced to PC, then waiting for its arrival despite all the delays... ah ah (f*cking very) long story !

 

Heard about RDR2 on Friday, I come back here and... feeling happy to see some Gentlemen names like Xerukal, Spider-Vice, and even Ash_375 !

It was madness, especially when Rockstar removed the pinned tweet about bounties.

When they removed that pinned Tweet on Friday, and then the second part of that 4chan leak happened... we all knew it was coming. f*ck, I made peace with it as soon as the guy said the announcement was coming in a couple hours, and THEN they unpinned the tweet like immediately after that leak was posted.

Actually I wasn't so far, coming from time to time, to quick check the news...

But the wait for V to PC had been so hard to handle (I mean so many months/years !!) that I chose to let it go for RDR2 : no strong wait for it, for sure a very big hype but no expectations... thus no way to get seriously disapointed, I mean.

 

AND ! Tadaaa

"Only" 1 year later, R* decided to become... Let's say gentle ?

=> PC announcement + arrival on next month

I don't. There is no way I'm grinding my ass off because R* wants me to buy gold bars. If RDRO is a grind-fest then 100% I will cheat in money and levels like I did in GTA 5, I'm not buying any micro-transactions.

Man, that afternoon was just ominous in a good way. It just felt right, until sh*t actually started happening, I was sceptical until they just unpinned the tweet out of the blue, something that had been only 24 hours pinned. Masters of hype.

Honestly Fun2’s theory (that ACB denied it for the code name) sounds legit so at this point I’m convinced it was RDR2.
